Rose Williams Talks ‘The Power’ And Its Message To Women In An Interview

This April, writer-director Corinna Faith‘s (The Innocents) The Power will premiere exclusively on Shudder. Ahead of its release, we sat down with the oh-so-talented lead actress Rose Williams to discuss the film (which we gave a glowing review), its making, and its important messages. Rose, who has also starred in films such as Curfew, A Quiet Passion, Misfits, and the Netflix original series “Medici,” absolutely nailed her role in The Power, delivering a powerful and emotional performance that left me impressed. So of course, I had to talk to her. In the film, as Britain prepares for electrical blackouts to sweep across the country, trainee nurse Val (Rose Williams) arrives for her first day at the crumbling East London Royal Infirmary. With most of the patients and staff evacuated to another hospital, Val is forced to work the night shift, finding herself in a dark, near-empty building. Within these walls lies a deadly secret, forcing Val to face both her

An Interview With The Vigil’s Director Keith Thomas And Actor Dave Davis

One of the best films to come of the horror genre this year is writer-director Keith Thomas‘ feature film debut, The Vigil, starring Dave Davis. I had the opportunity to speak with both Thomas and Davis, so of course, I jumped at the chance. The Vigil (review), which I am more than a little fond of, centers on Davis’ character Yakov who is in a bad place, he’s struggling after leaving the Jewish Orthodox church and trying to cope with enormous guilt. Broke and desperate, Yokov agrees to sit shiva for a family overnight. As if things weren’t bad enough for the poor guy, an evil entity is lurking inside the house. HorrorFuel: “I’m always fascinated by where the ideas and stories come from for movies. What inspired you to write The Vigil, which is fantastic by the way.” Keith Thomas: “Wow. Well, it’s kind of a two-fold answer. One aspect of it was mercenary, in that I wanted to

‘Wrong Turn’ Director Mike P. Nelson Talks Traps And Much More In Our Interview

It’s rare these days, but sometimes a reboot outdoes the original. That’s the case with 2021’s Wrong Turn from director Mike P. Nelson, which is a little more sophisticated than its predecessors, but just as bloody. I sat down with the director to talk about the film. HorrorFuel: “I must say, I was impressed by Wrong Turn, it’s rare that I say I love a reboot, so take it as a serious compliment.” Mike P. Nelson: “Awesome! It’s a little different.” HorrorFuel: “It feels a little more sophisticated, I guess that’s a good way to explain it. I was a little worried when it was first announced. I always am when I hear the word “reboot.” I wondered just how different it would be. Mike P. Nelson: “Oh, well thank you. Oh my gosh, well I mean, that was a gamble we took with this one. We were like, ‘We either do it all the way or we don’t do

G.O. Parsons Talks ‘Willy’s Wonderland,’ Horror And Nicolas Cage In Our Interview

One of the most highly-anticipated horror movies of the year is Willy’s Wonderland starring Nicolas Cage. It won’t be long now until the film is released. Ahead of its arrival, I spoke with G.O. Parsons, the mastermind (and writer) behind this fun flick which I’ve been so looking forward to seeing. And boy did Parsons fill us in on some awesome details and stories from the set. Directed by Kevin Lewis, the movie centers on a quiet drifter (Cage) who is tricked into a janitorial job at the family attraction Willy’s Wonderland. The mundane tasks suddenly become an all-out fight for survival against a bunch of demonic animatronics. Fists fly, kicks land, titans clash. Only one side will make it out alive. Writer-director Mickey Reece, known for his arthouse films such as Arrows of Outrageous Fortune, Mono, and more, sat down with us to discuss his new film Climate of the Hunter, out this month on VOD. In the film, starring Ginger Gilmartin, Mary Buss, Ben Hall, and Jacob Ryan Snovel, “two sisters, Alma and Elizabeth, along with a dog who’s described as a “philosopher,” have come to Alma’s remote house to reconnect with Wesley after twenty years. Alma is recently divorced and Elizabeth is a workaholic in Washington, D.C., while Wesley lives in Paris dealing with a wife recently struck with a fatal disease. When the three come together for dinner it has all the makings of a lovely adult melodrama about loneliness, and the desire to connect and share our lives with someone… but we must add to the mix one otherworldly piece of information: Wesley could be a vampire.” Horror Fuel: “Where did the idea come from for your
