Andy Grush and Taylor Newton Stewart Netflix new series “The Haunting of Hill House” is set to premiere on October 12th. Ahead of the premiere, I sat down with The Newton Brothers, the duo responsible for the haunting scores that bring the series’ haunting atmosphere to life. Andy Grush and Taylor Newton Stewart (aka The Newton Brothers) are very distinguished composers working on films such as Gerald’s Game, Open Water 3: Cage Dive, Ouija: Origins of Evil, Before I Wake, Hush, and Oculus. Horror Fuel: “How did you get into composing for films and series?” Taylor: “I started writing music for shorts back in high school for college students. That led me to assist for other composers, I worked for Hans Zimmer for a bit and several different composers. I did what I had to do, make copies, get coffee, record stuff, help write stuff. It just led from one thing to another. That’s how Andy and I met in

Writer-director Mario Cerrito III has a new upcoming horror film, Human Hibachi, and he sat down to talk with us, giving our readers a little taste of what they can expect. Horror Fuel: “We shared the first batch of images from Human Hibachi when they were released. They seem to be teasing cannibalistic aspect of the film.” Mario Cerrito III: “There is. The film is made in a found footage style. I’m a fan of found footage. It’s a hybrid. I made the film part found footage and part storyline. It’s not your common found footage. It’s got a good storyline which I feel will be holding people’s attention. I wanted to do something different on this one, my first two were shot in a regular cinematic style. So much has been done, but I haven’t seen anything like this. I wanted to do something original.” Horror Fuel: “How did the story come to be?” Mario Cerrito III: “I was

Writer-director-producer Peter Sullivan sat down with us to talk about some of his past projects and his upcoming film Cucuy: The Boogeyman ahead of its October 13th premiere on SyFy. Starring “Riverdale’s” Marisol Nichols, Brian Krause (Charmed), Jearnest Corchado (Blacklist), Bella Stine (“Peanuts”), Pedro Correa (“Turnt”), and Mick Ignis (Stan Against Evil) as the Cucuy, the film centers on a town whose children have begun disappearing. A rebellious teen under house arrest starts to suspect that a legendary evil, a boogeyman, known as the Cucuy, might be responsible. Horror Fuel: “You’ve been a busy guy having produced 99, writing 81 films, directing 27. How do you manage?” Peter Sullivan: “One of the things I do like to do is to bounce between genres. I think that keeps things fresh. I try not to do two movies in a row of the same genre. I try to balance out with a holiday movie, a horror movie, and a thriller.” Horror Fuel:

Recently, I was scrolling down my Facebook feed and came across a music video that caught my attention. The video had a real Tim Burton feel and a unique sound. I decided I had to track down the musician, Tommy Spase, hear more of his music and find out more about him. I reached out to Tommy and he sat down with me for an interview. Horror Fuel: “How long have you been with the band?” Tommy Spase: “The first incarnation of the band was about seven years ago. We played around LA for a while until a couple of members left and we got a couple more. That was over the course of like six years. I had been working on a children’s show but decided to get back into the music side of it. That’s how that video came across your news feed. I’ve been working on a whole launch process for this.” Horror Fuel: “How was the

I had the pleasure of talking with Zach about his role as Conner, his badass character in Death Race: Beyond Anarchy coming to Blu-ray, DVD, and On Demand on October 2, 2018. But that’s not all, Zach also confirmed that he will make his premiere on “The Walking Dead” this season (9). Jim Ojala has made quite a name for himself in the special effects world working on films like Where the Wild Things Are, Thor, Pacific Rim, and many others. Now, Ojala is making a name for himself as a writer/director of Strange Nature. I spoke with Jim about his eco-horror film and more and I have to say I was left very impressed with both his talent and his determination, he has spent the past fifteen years building up to make this film. Between its message, great story, and the talented cast it’s a winner in our book. In Strange Nature, by moving in with her estranged hermit father in the backwoods of a small town, Kim (Lisa Sheridan, “The 4400”) and son Brody find themselves in the middle of a horrendous phenomenon where deadly offspring mutations spread from animals to humans.” Based on true unsolved outbreaks of wildlife mutations, Strange Nature marks the directorial debut of FX master James
