Monster Hunters Are On A Mission In Netflix’s “October Faction” Series Trailer

Ahead of its series premiere later this month we’ve got Netflix’s new trailer for “October Faction,” based on the IDW comic book series by Steve Niles. The series, described as “Men In Black meets ‘Riverdale,'” follows Fred (J.C. MacKenzie)) and Deloris Allen (Tamara Taylor) who, after the death of Fred’s father, return to their hometown in New York with their 17-year-old twins Geoff (Gabriel Darku) and Viv (Aurora Burghart). Subsequently, Geoff and Viv’s lives are turned upside down when they discover their seemingly unremarkable insurance sales rep parents are, in fact, (spoiler alert!) trained assassins who hunt monsters. The series was adapted, created and is executive produced by Damian Kindler (“American Gods”, “Sleepy Hollow”, “Krypton”). Check out the trailer for “October Faction“, produced by High Park Entertainment in association with IDW Entertainment. The action-packed, monster-filled series is set to premiere on January 23, 2020, on Netflix.

‘Bloodshot’ Is Getting An Early Release!

Based on the bestselling Valiant comic book, director David S. F. Wilson‘s Bloodshot follows Vin Diesel (Fast and the Furious franchise) as Ray Garrison, a soldier recently killed in action and brought back to life as the superhero Bloodshot by the RST corporation. The adaptation has a new release date. Originally set to be released on February 21, 2020, the movie ‘s arrival has moved up nearly a month to March 13th! Samwise Didier’s ‘How To’ Book Is A Fun Challenge: Book Review

I’m always up to a challenge and willing to try anything new, especially when it comes to the arts. Thankfully Thunder Bay Press allowed me to check out Samwise Didier’s book How to Draw Mythical Monsters and Magical Creatures: An Artist’s Guide to Drawing Mythical Creatures from One of the Masters, that’s quite a mouthful. Let’s talk quickly about Didier himself first. For those of you not familiar with him but most likely know his works. Didier is a Senior Art Director over at Blizzard Entertainment where he directed the art style for the games; Warcraft, StarCraft, and Heroes of the Storm franchises. He also created the artwork for World of Warcraft, Hearthstone, and Diablo games. Now onto the book itself! The pages are thick which is perfect for those who may be flipping back and forth as they are trying a hand at drawing. Our First Look at Netflix’s “Locke And Key” Takes Us to Keyhouse Manor

Last week, Netflix announced its series adaptation of “Locke & Key,” based on the best-selling graphic novels by Joe Hill. Today, we have the first look at the series to share with you. In the series, “After their father is murdered under mysterious circumstances, the three Locke siblings and their mother move into their ancestral home, Keyhouse, which they discover is full of magical keys that may be connected to their father’s death. “Game Of Thrones” Creators’ Upcoming Film Brings The World Of H.P. Lovecraft To Life

What if the horrifying world created by H.P. Lovecraft was real? We’ll soon see such a thing in the form of a feature film from the creators of “Game of Thrones” and Warner Bros. David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, who brought us the amazing series “Game of Thrones,” “are bringing the monster-filled world to life based on the works of H.P. Lovecraft and Hans Rodionoff’s graphic novel “Lovecraft,” Deadline reports. According to the site, “the movie asks a horrifying question: what if H.P. Lovecraft wasn’t making it up? What if the monsters he created are real? Also, the movie will be set in 1920 withing the Cthulhu mythos.” The script is being penned by Phil Hay and Matt Manfredi. Karyn Kusama (Jennifer’s Body) is executive producing. We’ll update you when we know more.

Review: Issue #1 Of Joe Hill’s “Dying Is Easy”

So, I’ve gotten my hands on issue one of Joe Hill’s new comic Dying is Easy, from publisher IDW, the same publisher that brought us Hill’s The Cape, Road Rage, Thumbprint, and Locke & Key. The first issue opens with a dark and humorous stand-up routine by the main character, Syd “Shit Talk” Homes, an ex-cop with a sharp tongue and a quick wit. Hill made a bold choice opening a new comic with a comedy routine, but if you read closely, the routine reveals quite a lot about Syd. After his set, Syd sits talking with two other comedians as they discuss a young comic and his habits of stealing from other routines. The conversation flows well. Presumably set in the ’90s (Leno and “Friends” receive a nod), we also get hints of Syd’s past that includes murder and a woman. “The Boys” Season Two Trailer Is Bloody Awesome

One of the biggest and best series of 2019 is Amazon’s dark ultra-violent twist of the superhero genre, “The Boys” which premiered on the streaming network this past summer. The second season is headed our way next year and Amazon is giving us a taste of what’s to come with a brand new teaser that promises more action and a lot more bloodshed. The first season which is currently streaming on Amazon and is based on the best-selling comics by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson pulls back the curtain, revealing the ugly side of the superhero genre and follows a group of vigilantes known as “The Boys” who are on a mission to take down corrupt heroes who are in truth killers, and well, complete assholes when the cameras and public aren’t looking. Legendary Is Taking Us To ‘Sin City’ With New Series

It’s been five years since Sin City: A Dame to Kill For premiered. Now, it looks like we are getting Sin City television series. Legendary Television has sealed the deal with Frank Miller to turn Sin City into a television series. According to Deadline Robert Rodriguez is “close” to joining the project, Deadline reports. “The deal on the table is for Legendary to guarantee a first season of the show, contingent on them setting it up with a network or streaming platform.” “The deal with Miller also calls for a hard R animated series for a Sin City prequel based on Miller’s graphic novels.” Robert Rodriguez co-directed 2005’s Sin City as well as its sequel along with Miller. It wouldn’t be a big surprise if both end up serving as executive producers as well as directors. This is not the first time a “Sin City” series has come up. Neil Gaiman Confirms First Two Seasons Of His Netflix Series ‘The Sandman’

Following the success of “American Gods,” Neil Gaiman is currently working on a new series, “The Sandman,” which we first reported back in August. Gaiman has teamed up with David Goyer (Dark Knight trilogy) to produce the new adaptation of his graphic novel series for Netflix. Allan Heinberg (Wonder Woman) is serving as a writer and will also serve as showrunner. Described as “the most expensive TV series that DC Entertainment has ever done,” “The Sandman” is already approved for a second season. During a recent interview with Radio Times Gaiman confirmed the news. There are three of us, showrunner Heinberg, Goyer, and me, and we’ve just finished writing the first episode, and plotting and breaking down the first two seasons, so we’ll see what happens next.” The first season will feature eleven episodes, but up till now, we did not know that a second season was already ordered.
