THQ Nordic Barcelona is giving gamers the chance to offer their opinion on their upcoming project, a remake of cult classic Action RPG, Gothic. Players and fans of the popular series are invited to play the “Playable Teaser” which can show fans the true potential of how the game can look and feel once it’s finished. If fans approve it may take some time for the game to be released as the small development team plans to rebuild the game from the ground up fixing issues that plagued the game since 2001 (like the combat system). The two-hour-long prototype of Gothic is available on Steam and is only accessible for free to those who own any of the following titles Gothic, Gothic 2, Gothic 3, Risen, Risen 2, Risen 3, or ELEX. If you don’t own any of these titles, you’ll have to buy one of the games in order to have access to the playable prototype.

Happy Holidays from Alert Insulation, you’re all fired! Now just why is Alert giving everyone their staff the heave-ho? Well, that is all thanks to mega-efficient robot Auto (Jeff J. Knight in the suit with voice by Jim Tasker) who can handle an entire shift practically by himself… and there’s a better version of Auto itself ready to roll out. Small problem there… Auto gets wind of his eminent early retirement, blows a fuse, and becomes a full fledged murder machine that threatens the existence of the remaining staff. Maybe they shouldn’t use former military hardware to save a buck… With it’s pointed satire taking aim at corporate America and robot lead, you can bet demons to fuckin’ donuts that Automation brings to mind Verhoeven’s all-time classic flick Robocop, but that’s just surface level cats n’ creeps. The flick also has some stuff to say on office politics, what it means to be human and sentient, and just how much

Our dude Carl (writer/director Carl Medland) is headin’ back to the freaky farm that made him famous, and things aren’t lookin’ good regarding his personal safety! Following the events of the first two Paranormal Farm flicks (which I reviewed here and here) the aforementioned Carl is called back to Darren (Darren Earl Williams) and Lucy’s (Lucy French) remote farm, only to discover that things are becoming more violent thanks to the strange forces at play on that desolate land… and because he didn’t learn anything from his previous experiences, he dives balls deep right into the gaping maw of pure terror… or he decides to look around the farm with a flashlight searching for arcane energy… whichever reads better. Anyway, the investigation continues and our heroes must deal with malicious mannequins, the occasional putrefied rat, debates about wardrobe continuity, and even more whack-o visitors to the farm. Will Carl make it through the ghoulish goings-on unscathed… and more importantly will

Celebrate a new decade with writer-director Paula Leite‘s (A Ilha dos Cães) frightening new film Inner Ghost. Today we’ve got the trailer that teases an intense film. “If ghosts can think and remember who they are, then the physical brain is not the only place where we store our inner selves. Helen is asked to train two young women into the art of communicating with the dead. But Helen’s days as a medium are long gone. In fact, she gave up that life 15 years ago when she lost her daughter. Today Helen is a different woman dedicated to her career in brain research. Things start to change when a visit from the other side offers her the design of a device that can do amazing things. But to everything, there is a risk.” Celia Williams, Elizabeth Bochmann, and Iris Cayatte star in a blood-curdling excursion into fear, Inner Ghosts premieres on DVD and Digital January 7, 2020, from Uncork’d

I sat down last night to watch director Adam Egypt Mortimer’s most recent film, Daniel Isn’t Real, with no expectations thanks to the vague synopsis that was released. I have to say, that avoiding giving out a lot of information was a fantastic idea. We often have movies spoiled by too detailed synopsis and movie trailers. The story follows a young man named Luke who is struggling with life. His mom is mentally ill and he’s having issues himself. When his shrink learns of Luke’s childhood imaginary friend Daniel he recommends revisiting the friend who has been locked in a dollhouse since Luke’s childhood. At first, it seems that the imaginary friend is a good thing, Daniel is bringing Luke out of his shell. But things quickly go to hell in a handbasket. Miles Robbins stars as Luke, a kind, soft-hearted man who fears that his mother’s mental problems may have been handed down to him. With Daniel (Patrick Schwarzenegger),

Tracy (Makenna Guyler) and Petra (Marta Tananyan) are two free wheelin’ college co-eds down Turin way. Tracy is b.d. into being a photog, and the one thing that makes her pants tighter as far as subjects go are moldy-oldie abodes. Well, our heroines find just such a structure, break in, and soon find they are trapped inside. Well at least the home isn’t the den of a bloodthirsty creature that hunts Tracy and Petra, ever-lusting for their demise. Oh, wait… it is! Man, these ladies are done for… The first thing you may notice about Blood Bags is that it has style to spare. Emiliano Ranzani directed and shot the film to perfection, and there are moments that truly evoke the golden age of Italian horror cinema which is Ranzani’s chief source of inspiration… though I would wager both he and co-writer Davide Mela are at least aware of the basics of H.P. Lovecraft’s The Lurking Fear. As far as

Lucy (Adele Perovic) hauls ass to that hoary ol’ chestnut; a secluded cabin in the woods, to escape from her mega-shit relationship. Naturally, human companship is hard to come by out in the middle of East Asshair, but Lucy does manage to get chatty with both the owner of the abode, (Jane Clifton) and a shopkeeper (John Brumpton), who may be a bit on the questionable side. Even with those two scamps, the days become a sea of boredom, and even though the promise of relief in the form of a visit from Lucy’s sister Cassie is looming large, the stay at the cabin begins to become right shit. At least she has a sinister entity hangin’ around to liven things up… or possibly cause her all manner of harm. You can’t have your cake and eat it too Lucy-baby! Lost Gully Road is a sinister shocker that gets a lot of things right. For one, the focus being on
