Netflix Unveils Intense, Twisted Trailer For ‘Gerald’s Game’

The trailer has arrived for Mike Flanagan’s adaption of Stephen King’s Gerald’s Game for Netflix. It’s intense and twisted, to say the least. But what else would you expect from the same director that brought us Oculus, Ouija: Origin of Evil, and Hush? Starring Carla Gugino, Bruce Greenwood, and Henry Thomas, the film centers on a woman whose husband suddenly dies while she is handcuffed to their bed, leaving her unable to free herself. As time passes she realizes that rescue is an all but hopeless and begins to slip into insanity. Called “horrific, hypnotic, and terrific,” by Stephen King, Gerald’s Game premieres on Netflix’s streaming service on Friday, September 29, 2017.

Woman (In Horror) Crush Wednesday: Fairuza Balk

We are midway through another week, my Little Monsters, which means it’s time again to focus on a wonderful Woman of Horror. The focus this Wednesday is on a lovely and talented woman, who I personally wish were more of a fixture in the horror genre, Miss Fairuza Balk. Fairuza Alejandra Feldthouse is a California girl by birth, having been born in Point Reyes, CA to Solomon Feldthouse and Cathryn Balk. So taken with his baby daughter’s blue eyes, Solomon exclaimed, “Fairuza!” (which is the Farsi word for turquoise), and thus she had her name. She began her childhood, growing up in a commune in Cloverdale, CA with her mother, before they later moved on to Vancouver, British Columbia. It was at this time that Fairuza made her television acting debut in the ABC television movie, The Best Christmas Pageant Ever. This movie is a personal favorite of mine and my brother, and we watched it over and over on

‘The Exorcist’ Director Documents A Real Exorcism In ‘The Devil And Father Amorth’

Back in 1973, William Friedkin directed one of the most important classics to ever come from the horror genre, The Exorcist. Based on the novel by William Peter Blatty, The Exorcist centered on Regan (Linda Blair), a young girl possessed. Her mother sought and found help from two priests who were able to rid the girl of the dark entity, at great cost. Fast-forward several decades and you will find Friedkin tackling the subject of exorcism once again, this time in a real life documentary titled The Devil and Father Amorth. Friedkin got up close and personal during a real exorcism proceeded over by Father Gabriele Amorth, who performed exorcisms the Vatican’s Rome Diocese. Father Armoth has penned several books on the subject. After reading Amroth’s books Friedkin sought him out while on a trip to Italy. Surprisingly, the Father was a fan of The Exorcist. In the documentary, Friedkin is allowed to observe a real exorcism with restrictions that

Release Date Announced For The Higly-Anticipated Film ‘Death House’

The theatrical release date has finally been announced for the highly-anticipated action-horror film Death House (review) From writer-director Harrison Smith. Originally, the script for Death House was penned by Texas Chainsaw Massacre Actor and genre icon Gunnar Hansen. Smith rewrote the script, keeping Hansen’s vision intact. Smith also got the okay on the script from Hansen just before he passed away. In the film, Agents Toria Boon and Jae Novak have their own dark pasts, arriving at Death House to tour its levels and observe its denizens first hand as well as the medical and mental experiments of Drs. Blood Drive’s Season Finale Teased In New Clip “Finish Line”

One of (if not the) best new horror series on TV is Syfy’s ‘Blood Drive’. Ahead of Wednesday’s season finale a new clip teases the battle Arthur (Alan Ritchson (interview)), Grace (Christina Ochoa) and Slink (Colin Cunningham) are about to face as they race towards the company at the center of the country’s downfall on what is basically a suicide mission. Over the past 12 episodes, we’ve seen hundreds slaughtered, serious ass-kicking action, and Arthur go from a mild mannered cop to a bad-ass “Primo”. We’ve seen Grace evolve too. Some of her walls have come down as she’s grown to care about Author. We’ve even come to love Slink’s twisted self. I hate that the season is almost over, but hopefully, Syfy has taken notice of ‘Blood Drive’s’ legion of fans on social media demanding that they #RenewBloodDrive. And we are right there with them. This season has left us craving more! Check out the clip for the finale,

Review: ‘The Vault’ Is A Must See, Intense, Supernatural Tale Of Desperation

How far would you go to save the life of your brother or sister? If they were in trouble and owed some dangerous people a lot of money would you be willing to rob a bank to help them out? In Dan Bush’s The Vault, the Dillons, a group of siblings, team up to rob a bank, but that’s not as easy as it sounds. Played by Scott Haze (Midnight Special, interview), Taryn Manning (Orange is the New Black), Francesca Eastwood (Final Girl), the Dillons and two associates, Keith Loneker (Outlaws and Angels) and Michael Milford (Deserted), are on a mission to steal enough cash to cover Michael’s (Haze) debts. Little do they know there is something inside the bank that is much more dangerous than the cops waiting outside. Once the Dillons have taken hostages and checked the cash drawers they learn that they are still short of their goal. That’s when one of the hostages (James Franco) tell

Sony To Reboot ‘The Crow’

I remember being blown away by ‘The Crow’ (1994) and I felt akin to the anti-hero seeking revenge for his and his girlfriend’s murder. However, the sequels were slightly…well…extremely underwhelming. This is why horrorfuel.com is excited to announce that Sony is going to try their hand at making ‘The Crow: Reborn’. Deadline just announced that the studio is giving James O’Barr’s beloved comic another chance. But this time, they’re going to stay more loyal to the source material. His film is the ‘Macbeth’ of cinema. It has been plagued with setbacks and tragedy (most notably the death of Brandon Lee during the filming of the original). Jason Momoa was rumoured to be taking the title role, but now that he is busy with ‘Auquaman’ there is no confirmation if he is still attached to the project. Obviously we will keep you posted right here!
