There are A LOT of remakes and reboots coming out soon. One of those is the TV “reimagining” of Michael Lehmann’s 1988 genre film Heathers. The Red Band trailer is out and it is probably going to piss off any fans of the movie. New isn’t always better.
The series follows a group of outcast students who plot to kill the cool kids. The characters in the series are a bit different from the ones from the film, for example, one of the female characters has been swapped out for a gay male character and the lead mean girl is “body positive”. It comes across like they are trying a little too hard to be relevant, you know what I mean?
Selma Blair, Adwin Brown, Romel De Silva, Annalisa Cochrane, Jeremy Culhane, Cameron Gellman, Jess Leigh, Mandy June Turpin, Paige Weldon, Christina Burdette, Birgundi Baker, Grace Victoria Sawyer, and James Scully co-star. Shannen Doherty who played the role of Heather Duke in the movie will be making cameos in the series.
