‘Butcher Of Bosnia’ Ratko Mladic Found Guilty

NPR has reported that former Bosnian Serb General Ratko Mladic (74) was found guilty by The International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) and was sentenced to life for orchestrating the mass murder of Ethnic Muslims during the Bosnian Civil War, most notably the mass murder of 8000 Muslim men and boys in Srebrenica. Mladic’s reign of terror during the Bosnian War started in May of ’92 and ended in November of ’95 when the war ended. Mladic is the last of 161 individuals who were arrested and tried for atrocities committed during the conflict. Mladic was one of three big-name players to be tried. Old Wives Tale: Chewing RottingFlesh

Anyone who knows me knows that there is never a moment when I am not chewing gum. I have never done a band gig, solo gig, taught any lesson, played any sport or anything else without a piece of gum being chomped between my molars. It is honestly even to the point where I chew it as I sleep. I have never lost a piece in my sleep either by swallowing or by having it fall out of my mouth where it would surely become so wrapped I my hair that I would be forced to shave my head. Gum is my comfort blanket. Now, surely you’re asking what this little bit of superfluous information has to do with horror…I’ll tell you. I have been spending time looking at old wives tales (check out the one about the creature Pinky Pinky). There is a tale in Turkey that deals directly with my semi-addiction to having gum in my mouth. Apparently,

First News Arrives For Season 3 Of ‘Stranger Things’

Like most fans, I am now going through withdraws after finishing the second season of Netflix’s mega-hit series ‘Stranger Things’. So now the countdown begins season 3. Speaking of season 3, the Duffer Brothers recently spoke with THR and stated that there will be a significant time jump next season. Even if we wanted to hop into the action faster, we couldn’t,” says Matt Duffer. “Our kids are aging. We can only write and produce the show so fast. They’re going to be almost a year older by the time we start shooting season three. It provides certain challenges. You can’t start right after season two ended. It forces you to do a time jump.” Then he added, “It’s a long way of saying that yeah, we’re going to do a time jump.” It makes sense. The kids that star in the series are growing up quickly. Plus, since the Upside Down was beaten back it would take time for

Gore Films: The Depraved And The Delicious

(I wrote this for a film studies class I’m taking on “guilty pleasures.” Hope you enjoy) Gore Films: The Depraved And The Delicious Guilty pleasures are somewhat of a conceited concept. Why feel guilty for something that brings joy into your life? Long as they’re not hurting anybody, everybody should be free to get their kicks however they wish. Life is far too short to give even the smallest amount of care to what others think, especially about your hobbies. Saying that, while I don’t feel the slightest amount of guilt or trepidation in enjoying gore movies, I can understand why others might. There’s something a little sick, a little depraved, a little naughty about taking pleasure in the taboo, and gore movies are certainly nothing if not taboo. Defining a gore movie isn’t exactly complicated; it’s right there in the title after all. Just about any movie that relishes in bloodshed, that turns splattering the red stuff into an

For years horror fans have been talking about how awesome it would be to see a movie featuring all our favorite genre icons, Freddy, Jason, Michael, ect… Max Landis, son of the legendary An American in Werewolf filmmaker John Landis, has dreamed up a mind-blowing film and recently shared his idea, which has been brewing for the past 6 years, with the Nerdist’s Writers Panel podcast. The basic idea is that a 17-year-old kid in the foster system gets placed with a family living on Elm Street, the family of Glen Lantz (Johnny Depp’s character in the original Nightmare on Elm Street movie. On his first night, he is drugged at dinner and encounters Freddy Krueger. Freddy stalks the kid…pops out…claws to the face…dead instantly.
