Master Of Horror John Carpenter Has A New Comic Coming Out This Summer

Master of horror John Carpenter may have retired from directing, but he continues to work within the genre. In fact, Carpenter is working on something brand new, a comic series. Titled ‘Tales of Science Fiction’, the monthly comic anthology series will “show us the darkness and wonder of everything the genre has to offer.” That’s right, we said monthly. Carpenter and his wife, Sandy King, will be working together to deliver the comic through King Comics, Carpenter’s Asylum, and Tales For A Halloween Night, JoBlo reports. The first issue “Vault” was written by James Ninness with art by Andres Esparza and will arrive on shelves on July 26, 2017.

More VOLUMES OF BLOOD To Come In Third Film Of PJ Starks’ Anthology Series

Quick question for all my Little Monsters out there. Who LOVES a good horror anthology? I know that I do. In fact on of my favorite recent anthologies is PJ Starks’ Volumes of Blood: Horror Stories, the second in a series of horror anthologies, made for horror fans BY horror fans. According to a post on Starks’ Facebook page, it looks like Volumes of Blood will add a third film, thus ending the series as a trilogy. Of course we all know that sometimes horror franchises don’t end when they say they will, and in this case I would NOT see it as a tragedy if they decided to move past three. Despite the fact that Volumes of Blood III is in the early development stages, I’m dying to know what Starks’ “killer” concept is. The original Volumes of Blood revolved around for students who meet at a library on Halloween night, intent on creating four new urban legends. The

Tick Tock – An Original Short Story Part: 1

TICK…the watch hand clicked each second away…TOCK…each second seemed slower than the prervious one…TICK…it had been two hours since they had left him…TOCK…it was the first time he had been alone for three months, maybe four…TICK…it was hard to remember…TOCK…the seconds were getting slower…TICK…maybe the watch needed to be wound…TOCK…where had he left it…TICK…he could never remember where he set it…TOCK…“it must be wound every day to keep working”…TICK…his father’s words echoed in his mind and he began to panic. His father hadn’t said what would happen if the watch was not wound…TOCK…would it stop working? Nothing could be worse than that…TICK…he searched frantically for it…TOCK… The watch was a golden pocket watch. It was just over three inches in diameter with a large knob on the top to wind it. The outside of the gleaming gold that the watch was made of held no images, no scratches, no etching, nothing that took away from the light that always seemed

The (Chlorinated) Water Runs Red in The First Trailer For POOL PARTY MASSACRE

Fans of water side lounging and vicious murder have something to look forward to in the upcoming Pool Party Massacre, where foam noodles and inner tubes offer little protection against Axe Blades and Hedge Clippers. From the Las Angeles based Floating Eye Films, Pool Party Massacre is a gore soaked throwback to 80s cheese, and all the blood, sex, and madness that comes with it. After all, who needs big budgets and complicated plots when you have sexy young people in swim wear and a shed full of power tools? Writer-Director Drew Marvick is sure getting in the spirt of things! Pool Party Massacre doesn’t have a release date beyond Summer 2017 yet, but that just gives you more time to arrange a pool party of your own. Hopefully with more margaritas and less disembowlement.

The Rock, Wrestlemania, and Predator

As I sit on my couch watching Wrestlemania, I saw this news which is both fantastic and sad. Sad because Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson will apparently not be at Wrestlemania this year, but the reasoning is fantastic! Yes, news of additions to the cast of Predator are becoming nearly daily news, but this one feels bigger than others. The Rock will be laying the smack down on The Predator! The Brahma Bull joins the previously announced Thomas Jane, Edward James Olmos, Sterling K. Brown, Trevante Rhodes, Boyd Holbrook, Jacob Tremblay, Olivia Munn, Alfie Allen, Yvonne Strahovski, Augusto Aguilera, and Keegan-Michael Key. I think you all will join me in my excitement for this movie. I have no doubt that it will live up to the hype!

Fit To Be Tied? Stephen King and Netflix Have Got You Covered

As is the way with many Stephen King fans, I sit awaiting the big screen adaptations of IT and The Dark Tower with feverish anticipation. However, my Little Monsters, we mustn’t allow ourselves become too distracted by large menacing clowns or allow that dark tower cast too large a shadow over other King adaptations that are coming to smaller screens. One such adaptation is for his 1992 novel, Gerald’s Game, which will be released exclusively on Netflix sometime this year. This adaptation was directed by Mike Flanagan, based on a script he wrote with Jeff Howard. The movie stars Bruce Greenwood, as Gerald Burlingame and Carla Gugino, as Jessie Burlingame , and features a supporting cast that includes Henry Thomas, Kate Siegel, Carel Struycken, and Chiara Aurelia. Gerald’s Game tell the story of Gerald and Jessie Burlingame who, on a warm October Day, decide to take a trip to their summer home. Their love life having become, shall we say

Hear Robert Englund Voice an Iconic Batman Character in Injustice 2

If you want to add some credibility to your fighting game character, having Freddy Krueger voice him isn’t a bad way to do it. And on that happy note, Netherrealm Studio’s has decided to throw horror fans a bone, with the iconic Batman villain Scarecrow being voiced by the one and only Robert England in their upcoming DC fighting game, Injustice 2. Shown here in a new trailer, titled It‘s Good To Be Bad, Scarecrow might fight with a bladed chain rather than a clawed glove, but Fred’s penchant for nightmares and horrifying alternate realities is kept intact. While the trailer doesn’t show a whole lot of Scarecrow, England’s unmistakable voice rings through; and with unique opening dialogue for every combatant, Rob will be getting a lot to jabber on about. And no, while this isn’t quite as awesome as Freddy Krueger vs Batman, it might just be the next best thing.

Five Nights at Freddy’s Film to Be Released from Blumhouse

If four games in two years wasn’t enough, fans of acid trip Chuck E. Cheese Franchise Five Nights at Freddy’s now have a film to look forward too, with none other than Blumhouse producing. While the Freddy film rights were purchased by Warner Bros. years ago, this is the first real step of progress we’ve seen in production, with game creator Scott Cawthorn tweeting out this image. A chair and a logo; so not much to go on, but hey, its a start. There’s more than enough creepy imagery in the Five Nights Series to fill out a film, and while I’m sure Blumhouse will end up using CGI, the idea of actual animatronic monsters makes the horror geek in me drool. Let’s just hope there isn’t as many jump scares in the movie as there are in the game; I don’t need any more heart palpitations than I already got.

Scott Gimple Reveals How Many More Seasons Of The Walking Dead Are Still To Come

With The Walking Dead’s season 7 finale approaching, you may be asking yourself how much longer will the series run? Well, we can answer that. Scott Gimple, the hit series’ showrunner, recently appeared at Paleyfest in Los Angeles. While speaking to the crowd about the show’s success, he had this to say about how long the show will run: We are trying to do twenty years. The comic has certainly done it, and I look forward to every issue.” He went on, “The Simpsons has been on 26, 27 years, so that’s a challenge – so ok, challenge accepted. Done.” 20 years is a long time. Can they truly keep up interest that long? Let’s face it, with fewer people alive and walkers rotting, the number of walkers will dwindle. Meaning, eventually, the show will just be about people rebuilding society. Sure, they will have wars and characters will die, but will that be enough? After a while most of
