Years ago, when I was in school, the entirety of students were shuffled into the gym for a long-forgotten reason, sat down on the hard, wooden floor and “The Little Mermaid” was projected for us all to watch. I think that my favorite part of this Disney version was the singing seagull who walloped through the hit song “Kiss the Girl” with guttural la-la-las until he was physically silenced by the little red crab. I loved the juxtaposition of a happy little tune on a romantic date trying to set the mood for some smooching and this seagull is bellowing in the background just trying to fit in…why is he the only animal in the whole Disney-oceanic world who can’t sing? In this well-known version of this cartoon the foul-singing fowl is painful on the ears, but the original story is filled to the brim with pain and misery. Hans Christian Anderson wrote a tale of a young mermaid who

After The Walking Dead’s mid-season finale a short after credits scene was released online. Did you miss it? No worries, we’ve got it. The scene is set in Alexandria at night. Crickets are chirping as the camera pans past the darkened houses, finally focusing on Father Gabriel standing at his post at the gates. Gabriel is looking through the neighborhood, watching over the quiet houses filled with sleeping residents, and pacing back and forth. Suddenly, we see a figure in a hooded sweatshirt looking through binoculars, the owner of the mysterious boots from earlier in the episode’s final scene, drop to the ground and walk away. They are the same boots we saw in the scene where Rick and Aaron were exploring the property where they found the collection of guns. Robert Kirkman spoke during his appearance on the Talking Dead about the clip and the infamous pair of mystery boots. It’s a big part of what we’re dealing with

Last week (12/20) SCREAM —also known as the film that made slasher movies scary again— turned the big 2-0. Twenty years later, three sequels and a awesome TV series (which will be getting a season 3 in case you forgot) and now talk of a fourth sequel by the star and famed writer, where do we begin? So if you stood tuned to my articles, I’ve covered everything to do with SCREAM: The TV series, including reviews, recaps and season updates. MTV’s series acted as the final project based around the infamous SCREAM franchise that Horror Master and my idol Wes Craven, was attached to before his shocking and untimely death in 2015. Craven stood as director of the franchise since its 1996 launch with the writing hand of then fresh face Kevin Williamson. With three sequels on hand, Craven sadly couldn’t stay with us long enough to produce any others, but as previously stated he did manage to have

I know this is a sensitive subject for Walking Dead fans, but at some point, rather it be in three seasons or thirty, the series will end. There are many ways it could wrap, but recently at Walker Stalker Con Michael Rooker, who played Daryl’s one armed brother Merle, told the crowd how he think it should end. Rooker believes that Rick’s son Carl, you know, the one with one eye and can’t seem to follow orders, should be the last man standing when the end comes. A railroad track…going on forever, into the setting sun. From behind camera, a single individual walks down the middle of the track…into the setting son. You realize that individual is Carl…all grown up, a man of his own. No one else is with him – just him. And as he does his voiceover, you realize that all the seasons that you’ve seen him reliving his past. So everyone on the show is dead.

Several actors who star in the hit series ‘The Walking Dead’ actually auditioned for a role other than the one we know them for. Honestly, I think they all did great in the roles they did get. Norman Reedus Reedus, who plays our favorite redneck badass, actually auditioned for the role of Merle. The Walking Dead big-wigs were so impressed with Reedus that they created a character just for him, Daryl. He is the only main character on the series that does not exist in the comic that the show is based on. Sonequa Martin-Green You will recognize Green as TWD’s Sasha, though she originally auditioned for the role of the katakana wielding badass. Michonne. That role went to Danai Gurira. Green has just been cast in a lead role in the upcoming ‘Star Trek‘ series, which leaves us concerned about Sasha. Chad L. Coleman Coleman, who we know as Tyreese, auditioned for the role of Morgan. Lennie James ended

The season finale of Starz’s hit series ‘Ash vs Evil Dead’ has come and gone, leaving fans a little crazy, waiting for season 3. One of the best things featured this season was the foul-mouthed evil “Ashy Slashy” puppet that both Ash and Kelly had to face in the abandoned mental asylum. Thanks to NECA you can soon own a little Ash of your own. NECA will be unveiling their full size “Ashy Slashy” puppet replica in 2017. How groovy is that? We will update you when more is announced about the handsome little dude modeled after Bruce Campbell who plays the suave, badass, chainsaw wielding, deadite-slaying character Ash. “The cast is led by Bruce Campbell (Evil Dead, “Burn Notice”) in the role of Ash Williams; Lucy Lawless (“Salem,” “Spartacus”) as Ruby Knowby, who now possesses the powerful Necronomicon; Ray Santiago (“Touch,” Meet the Fockers) as Pablo Simon Bolivar, Ash’s loyal sidekick dealing with the trauma he suffered in the

Most people know the story of Cinderella. Poor orphaned girl with step-mother and even worse-step sisters who woos the dreamy prince charming at a ball in a dress crafted by whimsical animals and a fairy godmother. We know about the glass slipper and the stroke of midnight. We know about the happily ever after. However, like most fairy tales, the real story written by the Grimm brothers is much darker. There is no stroke of midnight, no dimwitted mice, and no bibbity-boppity-boo. So here it goes. Cinderella is not the real name of the protagonist. We never know her name (or anyone else’s in the tale). The story starts with her mother’s last words before dying of an unknown illness encouraging her daughter to always be good and kind. The loss of her mother breaks poor Cinderella and she spends each day at her mother’s grave. After a year, her father marries a woman who brings two daughters into the

‘ The Walking Dead may be in trouble. After 7 seasons AMC’s highest ranking show seems to be in decline. The season 7 premiere of ‘The Walking Dead’ scored the second highest ratings in the hit series’ history. A month later the ratings have taken a nose-dive. The episode titled “Go Getters”, had the lowest ratings since the third season. Some may say that it’s just a fluke, but a 7 million drop in ratings is pretty significant, and it’s getting worse. The episode before Sunday’s mid-season finale saw another drop to 10.4 million. The trend in viewer decline began with the season 6 finale which reached 12.42 million viewers, 3 million less than the season 5 finale. Let’s hope things pick-up through the second half of the season. TWD is not the only show losing viewers. The spin-off, ‘Fear the Walking Dead’, is suffering as well. Let me simplify ‘The Walking Dead’s’ numbers for you. 6 finale: 12.38 million

The Walking Dead held their mid-season finale this past Sunday. While there were no huge cliffhangers (Thanks AMC), there were a couple of deaths. Thankfully, no one major died. We also got to see Rick and Daryl reunite at the Hilltop. After the episode, the first trailer for the second half of the season gave fans a taste of the old Rick and the group in action as they “rise up” against the saviors. A new sneak peek was released, via Talking Dead, that gives us more insight into what the next half of the season will entail. Rick is fed-up and ready to fight back. They need more help to take out the Saviors. Jesus thinks it’s time for Rick to meet King Ezekiel. The Walking Dead will return in February. We can expect to see a lot of action in 7B and season 8 as Alexandria, Hilltop, and hopefully The Kingdom, go up against Negan and his men

Well, get ready for Walking Dead withdraw. The first half of the season is over and we have to wait until February for the next episode. Ugh! While most of The Walking Dead’s mid-season finale was a slow-burn, and a couple of characters that really didn’t mean much to us were killed. But there were some really important things that happened, some more important than you may have realized. Love him or hate him, Negan has some serious swagger. I can’t help but love that shit-eating grin he has. Every time he’s about to or has been naughty he smiles like a jackass eating briers, and it’s kind of adorable. He makes things interesting again and he is the one reason this season has been tolerable. Talk about perfect casting, no one could play that bat swinging badass better that Jeffrey Dean Morgan. So, lets look at the finale. More Deaths At The Hands Of Negan Negan did us all
