Carl Tanzler: A Monster In Love

People fall in love. People become infatuated. People become smitten. It happens to almost everyone; however, sometimes it goes too far. For some people, it goes WAY too far. Carl Tanzler, a German-born, maried doctor fell in love with a woman and was unable to overcome his feelings…even after her death. Born in Germany on February 8, 1877, information about Tanzler was hard to come by for a few years due to his practice of using a menagerie of names, his birth and death certificates read Carl Tanzler, he used Georg Karl Tänzler on his German marriage certificate, his American papers were signed Carl Tanzler von Cosel, and hospital records were signed with the regal-sounding Count Carl Tanzler von Cosel. Despite his oddities – paranoid and eccentric – Tanzler married Doris Ann Shafer in 1920. The Park Full Of Monsters That Inspired ‘Pan’s Labyrinth’

Near central Italy is the town of Bomarzo, a picturesque location in the Italian countryside that would be a fitting backdrop for a romance movie about forbidden love during the Second World War. In the town, there’s a park called Sacro Bosco (Sacred Grove) but it’s become known as Parco dei Mostri (Park of Monsters). As ominous as the name sounds, it’s actually a beautiful park you can spend hours or days in exploring. The park earned its name due to the number of statues that depict creatures carved out of the bedrock amongst the forest. The layout of the park was designed by Pirro Ligorio and the sculptures carved by Simone Moschino in the 16th century. The park was said to have been neglected in the 19th century till artist Salvador Dalí made a short film about the park that sparked interest resulting in a restoration project to cut back the woods that had overgrown the part and opening

Blaming Video Games In Order To Save Face?

Donald Trump says he will be meeting with heads of video game companies next week to discuss violence and video games. This is in response to the recent school shooting in Parkland, Florida that was carried out by a former student who’s believed to be mentally ill. The topic of mental health and access to firearms has been a topic of debate since the shooting at Sandy Hook but one thing always comes up that makes records scratch; “it’s the fault of video games.” This has been a topic of debate since the ‘90s, do video games cause crime? Movie Review: Cruel Summer is a Vacation I Never Hope to Take Again.

This is probably going to be one of the shorter reviews I have ever written…mainly because I think if I spend any more time time thinking about Cruel Summer I may get sick. Cruel Summer tells the charming (and supposedly true) tale of a young autistic man named Danny (Richard Pawulski) from the inner-city that gets a chance to go to the country thanks to a Governmental program. While there he encounters a real psycho of a human being who plans Danny’s demise after his equally atrocious girlfriend concocts a lie about the youth. You can guess the rest. Let’s see if I can put a positive on some of this…I guess if you want to see a film that fully displays the cruelty and unfairness that life can throw at someone then Cruel Summer is the picture for you. There is no epic revenge, no hope, barely any retribution…it’s just one unfortunate soul encountering a force that is out

Japan is a unique country because of its ability to embrace the changing world around them while still having hold of its cultural roots. AMC’s New Promo For ‘The Terror’ Is Filled With Screams

AMC has just unveiled a new promo filled with screams for Ridley Scott’s new series “The Terror”, starring Jared Harris (The Crown) and Tobias Menzies (Outlander). Set in 1847, a Royal Naval expedition is searching for the Northwest Passage and are attacked by a mysterious predator that stalks the ships and hunts the crews. The men are locked in a desperate fight for survival in this inspired by a true story series. Movie Review: In A Madman’s World Takes Us to Places No Sane Person Would Want to Go!

Elmer Wayne Henley is a down on his luck young dude from Texas. His family is broken (ol’ Elmer lives with his Mom for the record…probably because his Dad is the type of guy that doesn’t think twice about pulling a pistol and unloading a few rounds at his son’s back as he runs away), he’s surrounded by poverty, and his future doesn’t look all that bright and shiny. Enter small time hoodlum Dean Croll into Henley’s life…a charismatic fellow who gets our “hero” involved in all manner of thievery. Of course the illicit activity takes a turn for the darker side when Croll decides that white slavery…in particular the trade of young male teens, would be more lucrative…and Henley goes right along with the insanity. Croll then proceeds to take things even further by raping and murdering scores of young men which Henley helps lure into his clutches (due in no small part to Dean playing into his paranoia)…though

‘Twin Peaks’ Actress Grace Victoria Cox Joins Ted Bundy Film

Filming has begun for Joe Belinger’s Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile. We reported back in May that Zac Efron had signed on to star in the film as notorious serial killer Ted Bundy and last week we showed you the first image. Now, we have more casting news to share. Deadline is reporting that Grace Victoria Cox has joined the cast. The ‘Twin Peaks’ actress will be playing the role of Carol Daronch, a young woman who survived an encounter with Bundy and later IDs him in court. Told from the perspective of Bundy’s ex-girlfriend Elizabeth Kloepfer (Lily Collins), the film covers a several year span of their relationship while Bundy was hiding stalking and killing young women. Angela Sarafyan will co-star as Joanna, Elizabeth’s close friend. Oscar nominee John Malkovich is set to play Edward Cowart, the judge who presided over the killer’s trial and sentencing. 2 ½ Minutes To Midnight

The famed “Doomsday Clock” is ticking ever so close to the infamous “Midnight” where the complete annihilation of mankind would occur. The figurative clock was created in 1947 after the world saw the results of the two nuclear bombings in Japan that ended the Second World War. The clock was set up as a sort of reminder to the public around the world to make people aware of factors that could possibly bring about a nuclear holocaust.
