This January ‘Hacksaw’ Slashes Its Way Onto VOD

Winner of the “Best Slasher Film” award at the Monster of Horror Film Festival, Hacksaw is slashing its way onto VOD this January. In the film, “A young couple on a road trip takes a detour to the site where a notorious murderer, Ed “Hacksaw” Crowe, became an urban legend on the day he was killed many years before, but they quickly find the legend may not be quite as dead as they were counting on. Ash Mountain Films Announce Crowdfunding Campaign For “Mask Of The Devil”

Ash Mountain Films, the same company behind films such as Dogged and Nefarious, has now launched their crowdfunding campaign for their new 80’s style supernatural slasher film Mask of the Devil, set in the seedy world of pornography. Set in West Africa, in the late 19th Century, the centers on a British explorer who pillages a sacred ceremonial mask with supernatural powers from its tribal home. In present-day England, a fiery young woman named Mary takes a job at a low-rent pornographer in order to gain financial independence from her overbearing parents. When the “Mask of the Devil” finds its way on to set, it wreaks havoc and unleashes unimaginable carnage. Movie Review (Another Hole in the Head Film Festival): The Last Thanksgiving

Writer/director Erick Lorinc’s low-budget horror indie The Last Thanksgiving delivers big time on the practical effects gore and gags, but falls a bit short on its humor and social commentary goals. Set on the titular holiday, the story sees a group of restaurant employees made to work on Thanksgiving attacked by a cannibal family. The reason for the invasion and violence has to do with the family’s history — I’ll leave out details here so as to avoid spoilers — but their focus of attacks is on those who disrespect the holiday, in their viewpoint, by working on the holiday. The set-up is there for the aforementioned social commentary, but the delivery falls a bit flat with jokes about indigineous peoples — delivered by the villains, who are corrected at one point by an understandably upset near-meal protagonist — and the other attempts at comedy don’t land much better. The story centers on Emma, a struggling writer who begins her day by receiving incredible news about her latest story. Upon hearing the incredible news, her sister Sharon throws an impromptu celebration party for her later that night. Soon after arriving, Emma runs into an ex-boyfriend, Brad, who shows up uninvited and reminding her why they are no longer dating. Movie Review: Paintball Massacre (2020)

A gaggle of ol’ school chums get together for a bit of the reunion n’ paintball combo that sits so well with telephone operators from Biloxi between the ages of 22 and 22. Long story short, these folks get balls deep into feudin’ and fussin’, but that shit is small potatoes compared to the fact that a masked maniac has joined the (soon to be) ghoulish game, and he’s brought the tools to guarantee that there will be a higher than normal body count (which for paintball usually hovers somewhere between zero and zip) in this contest of champions! If Paintball Massacre is anything, it’s a damn good joltin’ jaunt into our beloved stalk n’ slay genre! What makes this one such a great time you may (or admittedly may not) ask? Molly (Isabella Alberti) wakes up in a trunk, with no memory of how her ass got in there, and wanders into a trap laden cemetery. Sounds like a typical Tuesday to me boils n’ ghouls… So how in the hell did Molly end up in the sinister soup anyway?
