Anthropologist Harry Beckmeyer (Barry Otto) witnesses some old-ass footage that purportedly shows a werewolf, and hears of a lycanthrope on the prowl in Siberia, so does what any rational human being would do; contacts the President of the United States and warns him of a worldwide werewolf epidemic. Spoiler: Prez blows that shit off. Wonder why? Meanwhile, comely marsupial werewolf Jerboa (Imogen Annesley) has fled from her abusive home and has been discovered living on the streets by Donny Martin (Leigh Biolos) who gets her a gig starring in the fright flick ‘Shape Shifters Part 8′. Jerboa reveals she is a real life werewolf, but Donny being the typical red-blooded male fucks her anyway…I mean, it’s only half bestiality, so it’s all good, right bro? (shudder) Soon Jerboa’s estranged family come a-lookin’ for her, and Beckmeyer crosses their path…and falls in love with a werewolf ballerina…and then ancient phantom werewolves are summoned…and there’s an award show…and a baby werewolf…and…and…ME FUCKIN’

Brian Barnes (Clint Carney, who also wrote the film) is a major league fuck-up. He’s pissed his life away with drugs n’ drink…and now he’s decided to retreat to a remote cabin (always a shit-hot idea in a fright flick) to try and dry his ass out with the help of his pal Anna (Jaymie Valentine). Complicating matters is the constant intrusion of a local sheriff (Kelton Jones, who directed the film as well), and some pesky, and sanity threatening, hallucinations and ghosts that may just reduce Barnes to a quivering mass of jelly before the yarn unspools! Oh Dry Blood, you magnificent, wildly uneven, bastard. For the first half of this film, you will doubtless ask yourself “Why on Earth am I trudging through this nonsense?” Scenes go on forever, Carney is a rather unlikable lead, and Valentine…well, let’s just be charitable and say her acting (and wig???) leave a shit-ton to be desired (though after the picture ends

Creazn Studio and Soedesco will be combining the mysterious thrills of film noir with atmospheric unease of horror in their upcoming game Dollhouse. As suggested above, this game is a devilishly creepy hybrid of telling a noir type story with elements of horror. The game centers around a detective named Marie who’s trying to solve the death of her daughter all the while trying to regain her memory of the events surrounding it. Marie is not alone; something sinister hauntingly hunts her as she tries to unravel the truth. In the game, players will be able to upgrade Marie’s 40+ skills as they traverse the ever-changing surroundings that ensure no two game plays are the same. Dollhouse will also include a multiplayer game where you can choose from 14 playable characters, each with a unique backstory, and have a target selected for you to murder. Dollhouse will be released in 2019 for Windows and PlayStation 4.

Terror Films has acquired the rights to writer-director Richard Stringham‘s indie horror Close Calls and set a January release date. The film centers on a troubled teen girl (Morgan) who is forced to stay home and tend to her crazy grandma after being grounded by her father. But when daddy leaves for a dinner date, Morgan’s paranoia heightens as she starts receiving several disturbing phone calls while dealing with grandma. Between all the phone calls, the drugs she has taken, and surprise visits from some unexpected guests, Morgan now thinks everyone around her is out to kill her. And to make matters worse . . . she keeps forgetting to give grandma her meds. The cast includes Jordan Phipps, Greg Fallon, Carmen Patterson, Kristof Waltermire, Janis Duley, and Star McCann. Stringham, promises to horror fans that “Close Calls” will not just be another ’70s/’80s throwback film (which it is), but a film that hopefully delivers a refreshing, stylish take on

With the new year comes a veritable ass-load of short fright flicks that fine fiends have asked me to lay my putrid peepers upon (or like three…but one man’s small amount is another man’s ass-load I never say…). So without further ado, here comes some bite-sized revoltin’ reviews! Slash (2018): Callum (Michael Mowen) is just tryin’ to enjoy a sinister slasher pic, but his gal pal Sydney (Chloe Carroll…who also produced the film) is riding his ass like a cheap suit calling out every beloved stalk n’ slay trope and giving it a savage roasting that will have you wishing ol’ C-dawg would throw her out on her ear. Of course soon the tables turn, and Sydney finds herself in just the situation she so mercilessly took jabs at, but will she fare any better than the characters on the silver screen? Running at a brief eight minutes and change, Slash is a great skewering of that one mother fucker

In 1970, three children were born during an eclipse (presented in the cheapest way imaginable, and a real treat for those of you that dig on still photos of a solar eclipse and V.O. exposition…). Flash forward ten years, and these hellions (played by Elizabeth Hoy, Billy Jayne, and Andrew Freeman respectively) are making 1980 a real shitty year for their suburban neighborhood. Engaging in everything from spying on Julie Brown (Earth Girls Are Easy variety, not ‘Downtown’…) dancing around naked, to locking other kids in abandoned refrigerators, to straight up murder (victims include, but are not limited to: their parents, teachers, and rando horny teens). Soon it’s up to Timmy (K.C. Martel) and his sister Joyce (Lori Lethin) to try and put an end to these tiny terrors armed only with astrology (?!!) and their wits…my money’s on the killer kids… The first thing that will doubtless pop into your fevered lil’ brains as you watch Bloody Birthday is

A nameless woman (Johanna Stanton) wakes up in a locked room in some place or another (she has no fuckin’ clue, and neither do we). I guess that’s cool…just chill the F out and get to really know yourself kind of ‘sitch…of course she has shit-all as far as memories are concerned…and she’s not really alone. You see these “beings” with catchy handles such as Husband (Matthew Tompkins), Wife (genre legend Debbie Rochon) and Innocence (Hayden Tweedie) keep appearing in the room to give our heroine static. Who or what are they? How did they get in there? Is our protagonist encountering demons or is she merely insane? Those questions will have to be answered with the fuckin’ quickness if our Jane Doe is going to make it through this ordeal! Comprised of a style that could best be described as arthouse with a sprinkle of grindhouse for flavor; Doom Room is one odd duck of a fright flick. The

A panty-sniffing psycho (played with a shit eating grin and endless panache by a terrific Christopher Showerman) kidnaps a family and forces the patriarch to listen to a trilogy of terror tales (hence that title this flick sports) or else he’ll release a deadly nerve gas that will force the man’s wife and daughter to twerk themselves to death…oh for the fucking love of fuck… Anyway, tale one, By Proxy, concerns a horror author/mother (Lynn Lowry of Shivers fame) who witnesses the suicide of her small child. After that a demon visits her to teach her the error of her life’s ways on Christmas like a distaff Ebeneezer Scrooge. Featuring a nice performance from Lowry, some real emotional content, and a fun demon design, this is a very strong way to start the collection of stories. Next up is Radical Video, an ’80’s set yarn featuring the horror hound pleasin’ misadventures of a serial killer armed with a sledgehammer puttin’

Better buckle up for this one boils n’ ghouls ‘cuz ol’ XIII has just had a lousy time in front of the boob tube and he’s going to bring you along on his pain parade! Before I lose my shit; let me briefly tell you the plot to the upcoming film Loophole. Mankind has discovered the Hamanaro Strand, a piece of the genetic code that makes those that possess it violent criminals. This leads to mandatory testing for the gene, and the removal of those that have it from the society of decent folk…there’s also a conspiracy involving the UN and Satan. Okay, fair enough. Enter college student Lexi Smith (Chloe Lukasiak) and her friend Emma (Gabrielle Valladares). These young ladies are tested and found to have an unusual genetic profile that may link them to Judas Iscariot. They are then caught up in a war between an angel Riley (Deven Bromme) and Satan’s pal Asael (Mark Shrader)…they are also
