Filming has begun on director Christian Volckman’s (Renaissance) The Room starring Olga Kurylenko (Oblivion, Quantum of Solace, Vampire Academy) and Kevin Janssens (Revenge). Today we have a first look. In the film, “Kate and Matt are a young couple in their thirties in search of a more authentic and healthy life. They leave the City to move into an old house in the middle of nowhere. Soon they discover a secret hidden room that has the extraordinary power to materialize anything they wish for. Their new life becomes a true fairytale. They spend days and nights indulging their every desire for material possession, swimming in money and champagne. Yet beneath this apparent state of bliss, something darker lurks: some wishes can have dire consequences. That Room could very well turn their dream into a nightmare when it gives them what they’ve been waiting forever and that nature was denying them…” Written by Christian Volckman, Eric Forestier, and Vincent Ravalec, the

It’s been called “one of 2018’s best undistributed films” (SlashFilm) and now you can also call it a Shudder Exclusive. Shudder, AMC Networks’ streaming service for horror, thrillers and the supernatural, announced today that it has picked up all rights to writer-director Issa Lopez’s acclaimed feature Tigers Are Not Afraid where you can see it later this year. I’m incredibly happy to announce that Shudder will distribute Tigers Are Not Afraid for English-language audiences,” said Lopez. “Shudder is an outstanding curator of the best and the weirdest of international fantastic cinema, including many of my favorite new movies from trailblazing filmmakers. The opportunity to have Tigers Are Not Afraid among them is an absolute honor.” Lopez’s film combines horror and fantasy to deliver a moving portrait of the dire circumstances of the children left behind by Mexico’s brutal drug wars. Estrella ( Paolo Lara) is ten-years-old and alone. Given three magical wishes, she asks first that her missing mother come

When I first heard of Ragmork, I wasn’t sure just what kind of picture it would be…the title conjured images of a fantasy epic in my mind (though that may just be how my fevered imagination fires)…but images released certainly didn’t indicate that would be the case. So just what is Ragmork about? Viktor Graves (Tim Novotny), a fucked up kid, from a fucked up family, who has grown up into a fucked up adult (as is often the way), walks out of his cubicle-hell of a job and rolls back into the town where he grew up in rural Ohio. Now devoid of the dysfunctional family Viktor begins searching for answers in his life, drifting from one encounter to another before being attacked by a feral man named Ragmork (John Bradley Hambrick), whom our hero gets a bit stabby with. That’s when things get really bizarre (which is saying something considering the waking nightmare tone the flick possessed before)

Earlier today we reported that “Swamp Thing” was in jeopardy as is the streaming network DC Universe. The series, originally set to feature 13 episodes has been cut down to 10 with rewrites ordered. The studio suddenly halted production before the last 3 episodes could be filmed. Within the past few hours, DC Universe has released a teaser trailer for “Swamp Thing” which I imagine was to boost fans’ interest along with giving fans confidence. The first teaser gives us our first look at Swamp Thing, played by Derek Mears (Friday the 13th (2009), Men in Black II), and he looks a lot like the comic book character he was based on by Len Wein and Bernie Wrightson. Jennifer Beals, Virginia Madsen, Ian Ziering, Will Patton, Andy Bean, Crystal Reed, Kevin Durand, Henderson Wade, Jeryl Prescott, and Maria Sten also star. “Ash vs. Evil Dead” writer Mark Verheiden and IT co-writer Gary Dauberman penned the series’ script. Widow Joyce (Lin Shaye) was left high and dry with her ass in the air after her husband died and left her with nothing except the house they lived in…a house she gets the bright idea to turn into a bed and breakfast joint. This plan seems solid, but Joyce’s personality and quirks manage to piss off each and every guest of her establishment. Enter Bob (Oliver Rayon) a mysterious drifter (do they ever come in any other flavors?), who Joyce quickly becomes absolutely obsessed with…like the psycho-stalker style of obsessed, which goes about as off the rails as you would imagine, especially when a comely ex-guest Joyce has befriended makes the scene… Directed by Tommy Stovall from a screenplay by Stuart Flack, Room For Rent comes off like one of those thrillers you’d find on Lifetime…but is that a bad thing? Kind of. Devoid of mystery and suspense (we know who’s responsible for all of the menace right from
