Fantasia 2018 Movie Review: The Man Who Killed Hitler And Then The BigFoot

On July 19th Robert D. Krzykowski‘s The Man Who Killed Hitler and Then the BigFoot premiered at the acclaimed 2018 Fantasia International Film Festival. I had the pleasure of seeing this intense film that is filled with suspense, emotion, and action. The film opens with Billy Squire’s “Lonely is the Night” playing on an old jukebox. As the camera pans around we see a man sitting on a bar stool alone with only his drink to keep him company. That man is none other than Mr. Sam Elliot as our silver-haired central character, Calvin Barr. As soon as Calvin sets down his glass we are sent into a flashback, which happens frequently in this film. We see a young, dark-haired man in a Nazi uniform making his way through a manor under Nazi control. We see the young Calvin enter an office where Hitler stands, warming himself by a fire. Suddenly Calvin snaps back to the present where the bartender

Movie Review: Occupation (2018)

Occupation begins with Reagan’s famous speech about the world’s differences being set aside and all mankind uniting if faced with an alien threat (also a large part of the plot of ’80’s comic book masterpiece Watchmen)…which is put to the test as a disparate band of residents of a small Australian town go about their daily lives until they are faced with just that…an invasion from beyond the stars that begins as they all enjoy a carnival where a football match…game…I don’t know, maybe it even isn’t football…I know jack shit-all about sports, and I’m sure the participants ability to kick a ball in no way foreshadows anything to come as the story plays out. Any way, a right unruly lot of armor clad star-borne bastards begin shooting up the carnival with their “pew-pew” lasers six ways to Sunday (in a spectacular action set piece). As the days (and months) progress our normal folk must rise up and become heroes

‘Slender Man’ To Face ‘The Meg’

In what seems to be a dicey move Sony Pictures has changed the release date of Slender Man putting it directly in the path of New Line’s The Meg, one of the most highly-anticipated films of the year. Sony’s relationship with Slender Man has been strained from the get-go. Back in May, the producers of the film were shopping it around to other studios and streaming services after producers and Sony had disagreements about the studio’s release strategy, Bloody Disgusting reports. Reportedly, the date was changed in hopes of snagging teen moviegoers while they are still on summer break. Directed by Sylvian White, Slender Man centers on the tall, featureless figure born from a Something Awful story contest entry by Victor Surge. After finding its way to Creepypasta the entity took on a life of its own. Set in a small town in Massachusetts, the film centers on four high school girls who perform a ritual in an attempt to

Jason Statham Looks Like Fish Food In ‘The Meg’s’ New Trailer

As things continue to heat up this summer, The Meg is waiting to bear its teeth this August at theatergoers. After several trailers and TV spots, we finally get some new footage to wet our appetites with a brand new trailer. In the film from director Jon Turteltaub, based on novel series by Steve Alten, “A deep-sea submersible—part of an international undersea observation program—has been attacked by a massive creature, previously thought to be extinct, and now lies disabled at the bottom of the deepest trench in the Pacific…with its crew trapped inside. With time running out, expert deep-sea rescue diver Jonas Taylor (Statham) is recruited by a visionary Chinese oceanographer (Winston Chao), against the wishes of his daughter Suyin (Li Bingbing), to save the crew—and the ocean itself—from this unstoppable threat: a pre-historic 75-foot-long shark known as the Megalodon. What no one could have imagined is that years before, Taylor had encountered this same terrifying creature. Now, teamed with

Action Packed Gore Filled ‘Overlord’ Trailer Unleashed Ahead Of SDCC

Ahead of tonight’s start of San Diego Comic-Con, Paramount has released the red band trailer for the WWII set Overlord. Kicking off with AC/DC’s “Hell’s Bells, the trailer is filled with blood, gore, and non-stop action. Soldiers seem to be going toe to toe with super soldiers that may or may not be zombies made by a Nazi-created serum. The trailer left us tickled pink and wondering what is behind the mysterious wall at the end of the trailer. This is going to be good. In Overlord, “On the eve of D-Day, a group of American paratroopers are dropped behind enemy lines to carry out a mission crucial to the invasion’s success, but as they approach their target, they begin to realize there is more going on in this Nazi-occupied village than a simple military operation. They find themselves fighting against supernatural forces, part of a Nazi experiment.” As we’ve previously reported, the J. J. Abrams-produced, Bad Robot horror film
