I’ve always loved genre mash-ups and one of my favorites is the crime thriller/horror movie. I love when you take characters that live outside normal society and the law, and put them in a situation where they can’t count on any of those things to help them. There’s also something inherently cool to me about tough

Movie Review: The Long Dark Trail (2022 – Cleopatra Blu-ray)

Things are mega-shitty for two teenage brothers (Brady and Carter O’Donnell) in rural Pennsylvania. How so you may (or may not) ask? Well, their beloved mother has flown the coop, and Daddy Dearest is an abusive dick second to none. It’s that last point that inspires our heroes to beat feet out of the cabin the family calls home, and begin a trek into the wicked woods that surround their abode. As they trek through the verdant forests in search of their mother they begin to realize there is something sinister among the trees and streams… namely a pagan cult that may be worse than the home-based horrors they faced previous! Writer/directors Kevin Ignatius and Nick Psinakis do a lot right with The Long Dark Trail. For starters, the story is a deft blend of Stand By Me-style dark childhood journey mixed with folk horror cult goodness that works incredibly well from a narrative stand point. This story is helped

An Interview With ‘The Outwaters’ Writer-Director Robbie Banfitch

The genre has a new found footage horror film, The Outwaters, which sees the discovery of videos left behind by a couple exploring the desert. We sat down with the film’s writer-director and actor, Robbie Banfitch, to discuss the movie that opened in select theaters on the 9th. In the film, “Memory cards unearthed in a remote stretch of the Mojave Desert tell the story of four travelers who vanished during a sun-drenched camping trip. One night, everything changes when the foursome is sent on a mind-bending voyage of unrelenting terror into a world of darkness that no human was ever meant to see.” The visceral film had an award-winning festival run — where it was hailed as one of the year’s scariest movies. The Outwaters stars writer-director Robert Banfitch, Angela Basolis, Michelle May, Scott Schamell, and Leslie Ann Banfitch, featuring original Salem Belladonna music. It is produced by Beau J. Genot and Banfitch, with Robert Abramoff serving as executive

Movie Review: Eugenie… The Story Of Her Journey Into Perversion (1970 – Blue Underground 4K)

In a near Olympic-level of horniness, Mistival (Paul Muller) practically gives his daughter to the comely Marianne (Maria Rohm) in exchange for a lil’ of that ol’ sexual fucking. Now Marianne has plans for that daughter, Eugenie (Marie Liljedahl) by name, which include spiriting her away for a stay at her family’s remote island estate with Marianne’s half-brother Mirvel (Jack Taylor) in tow. Before you can say “Surely, things will not turn sexual in this scenario.”, things turn sexual in this scenario as those sinful semi-sibs introduce our naive heroine to all manner of kink biz six ways to Sunday! Why are they doing all this? Why to prepare Eugenie for the arrival of that Pervert’s Pervert; Dolmance (Christopher Lee)… will she retain a shred of innocence after this ordeal, or will she give in to every dark desire? Taking the original tale Philosophy in the Bedroom, penned by the legendary Marquise de Sade in 1795, director Jess Franco along
