‘Wrong Turn 7’ Receives A Hard “R” Rating

The inbred killer redneck franchise Wrong Turn will soon unleash another bloody installment. The follow-up to Wrong Turn 6 is on its way and has just scored its MPA rating, a hard “R,” for “strong bloody violence, grisly images, and pervasive language.” But that’s no surprise, after all the movies are damn pretty brutal. Mike P. Nelson (The Domestics) is in the director’s chair for Wrong Turn 7, reportedly titled Wrong Turn: The Foundation. In the sequel, a group of unlucky friends to Harpers Ferry, West Virginia to spend a couple of days hiking the Appalachian Trail where they are confronted by “The Foundation”, a community of people who have lived isolated in the mountains since before the Civil War. Bloody-Disgusting reports. Movie Review: ‘Kindred’

According to many sources, one of the most vulnerable times in a woman’s life is while she’s pregnant. The movie Kindred reinforces that theory in a dark and disturbing way that will leave any mother bothered. In the movie, Ben (Edward Holcroft) and his girlfriend Charlotte (Tamara Lawrance) break the news to his mother (Fiona Shaw) that they are movie to Australia, but this overbearing, demanding woman isn’t having it. When her son is killed right after finding out he’s going to be a father, she decides that she will do anything to keep her grandchild close, and I mean anything. When Charlotte wakes up after fainting at the hospital she discovers she’s now a prisoner in the manor where nine generations of Ben’s family have called home. Both Lawrance and Shaw play their parts well, I think for what they were given. But their characters lack impact and I don’t think that’s all their fault. It comes across like

Movie Review (Lund Fantastic Film Festival): Get the Hell Out

Taiwanese horror comedy Get the Hell Out is an ultra-fast-paced romp with political messages aplenty that are relatable across international borders. It is a spectacle, to be sure, but ultimately doesn’t offer much new in the zombie comedy department. Hsiung (Megan Lai) is a government official trying to stop a chemical plant from being built literally where her beachside home is. Little does she — let alone others — know that construction of the plant will unleash a rabies virus and turn people into “idiots” — the translated word used in the film in place of zombies. After being forced out of office by rival Li (Chung-wang Wang), she manipulates a security guard she has known since childhood named Wang (Bruce Ho) into running to replace her in office, hoping to be a puppet ruler behind him. Naturally, Li has other plans for Wang, and Wang has his own reasons for doing things in office. Once the infected President enters

‘Triggered’ Actress Reine Swart Talks Explosions And Gore In Our Interview

Back in 2018, I interviewed South African actress/director Reine Swart after being blown away by her performance in the indie horror The Lullaby. When I had an opportunity to catch up with her during the promotion of the new film Triggered, I jumped at the chance. Triggered is the action-packed survival horror from director Alastair Orr. In the movie, a group of high school friends reunites to celebrate the memory of the friend they lost. After setting up camp they wake to find they are fitted with explosive vests and all hell breaks lose as they are forced to fight to survive. Reine stars alongside Sean Cameron Michael, Suraya Rose Santos, and Liesl Ahlers. Horror Fuel: “Your new action-packed movie is about to be released, right?” Reine Swart: “Yeah, that was a really fun one. Alastair is such a great director.” Horror Fuel: “Yes he is. The movie is really intense and physical. What was filming like for you?” Reine

Movie Review (Arrow Video FrightFest October Edition): Cyst

Imagine classic science fiction creature features of the past such as Fiend Without a Face mashed up with modern gross-out comedy gags and you are on the right track toward describing Cyst, a loving tribute to the black-and-white creature feature classics and clas-sicks of the 1950s and 1960s with a garish coat of cinematic color. With Cyst set sometime in those aforementioned decades, Eva Habermann stars as Patricia, a put-upon nurse in a medical clinic who serves notice of her intention to quit when physician in charge Dr. Guy (George Hardy of Troll 2) tells her that patent officials are due any minute to have another look at Get Gone, his laser invention meant to be a pain-free way of removing cysts. Patricia still bears the scars from one of his earlier attempts with the device, and she wants nothing more to do with it — though she must serve out the rest of the workday. Naturally, the machine doesn’t
