Trent Reznor And Atticus Ross To Release An Early ‘Halloween’ Treat

Tomorrow is Friday the 13th, my Little Monsters. We often associate this day with a movie series that began with a murderously vengeful mother and evolved to feature a death dealing juggernaut…his name was Jason. However, Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross will be releasing a music track on Friday October 13th, that is associated with another beloved day we will all be observing at the end of the month – Halloween. Reznor and Ross are taking a stab (get it…STAB) at covering the iconic theme from John Carpenter’s 1978 horror classic, Halloween. The track is being released by way of Sacred Bones and Reznor’s own record label, The Null Corporation. A sample track had been available earlier at Amazon (I know this, because I listened to it), but has since disappeared and is now replaced with an error message that is accompanied by a random picture of one of the “dogs of Amazon”. Hopefully, after the build up I’ve seen

Taylor Swift Goes Full Killer Zombie

Looks like Taylor Swift is channeling her inner Michael Jackson circa 1982. Either that, or she is doing an audition for ‘The Walking Dead’ that nobody expected. The new video which was premiered at the MTV Music Video Awards last night is for the song ‘Look What You Made Me Do’ and shows Swift killing off versions of herself one by one to bring in the new era of her career. I wonder what new era it is. I wonder what personalities she killed off because the song sounds just as angsty and whiny as all of her other hits, but that’s just my opinion…it doesn’t mean it’s a bad song, just not my cup o’ tea. The cool part of this song is that it is a really cool little horror short. Directed by ‘Detention’ filmmaker Joseph Kahn, the film really does look cool. The makeup, sets, contrasts and atmosphere of the music video are a cool departure from

Alice Cooper’s New Album ‘Paranormal’ Is A Shock’n, Rock’n Blast From The Past

Shock rocker Alice Cooper released his first album in 6 years last week. Released on July 28, Paranormal is an album that long-time Alice Cooper fans will adore, as it oozes with the kind of old school Alice songs that got imbedded into the rock culture of the 70s and 80s. It’s for good reason, too, as the album features two songs written and recorded with the original members of The Alice Cooper Band. The album also features tracks with guest appearances by U2 drummer Larry Mullen, Roger Glover of Deep Purple and ZZ Top guitarist Billy Gibbons. As if the cameos weren’t enough of a treat, the album also comes with 6 classic Alice Cooper hits, recorded live at a show last year in Columbus, Ohio. In a recent interview with blabbermouth.net, Cooper had this to say regarding the title of the new album: “My definition of paranormal is something that is ‘other than normal’ or ‘alongside of normal’.

Album Review: The Prople Will Have Their ‘Revenge’

All right, let’s get this out of the way – the Prople is an incredibly silly name for a band, even for horrorpunk, a subgenre permeated with silly band names. That said, these central-Florida veggie-powered creepsters have crafted fifteen aggressive, catchy blasts of ghoulish punk rock venom with their debut full-lenth, Revenge. Owing far more to poppy skate punk and early-1980s hardcore fury than to any band showcasing Glenn Danzig’s gothic croon, the album is a refreshing dose of gritty, horror/sci-fi-influenced rock n’ roll in a sea of Graves-era Misfits sound-alikes. Opening track “Grim Grinning Ghosts” sets the tone with its ultra-Hallows Eve-y synth into, then things get much more belligerent (and ridiculous) from there. Star Wars nerds can rejoice in the one-two punch of “The Force Awakens” and “Daddy Built a Death Star”, while “Dirty Laundry” sounds like Black Flag gone crust. Depending on one’s favorite character from the beloved anime series, the Dragon Ball Z faithful may want
