Two friends on a weekend hunting trip make a terrible mistake, now someone has to pay. Netflix has announced the June release of Calibre, along with the trailer for Matt Palmer‘s thriller starring Martin McCann, Jack Lowden, and Tony Curran. In the film, “Two lifelong friends head up to an isolated Scottish Highlands village for a weekend hunting trip. Nothing could prepare them for what follows.” Calibre premieres on Netflix on June 29th.

Uma Thurman Joins Netflix’s Upcoming Series “Chambers”

It feels like not a day goes by where we don’t report something about the streaming monster Netflix. Today’s news includes one of Netflix’s MANY upcoming series, “Chambers“. Uma Thurman (Imposters, Kill Bill) has been cast as the lead in the supernatural drama “Chambers”, Deadline reports. The 10-episode series was created and written by Leah Rachel and centers on a “young heart attack survivor who becomes consumed by the mystery surrounding the heart that saved her life. However, the closer she gets to uncovering the truth about her donor’s sudden death, the more she starts taking on the characteristics of the deceased — some of which are troublingly sinister.” Thurman will play the role of Nancy, “the mother of the heart donor who forges a hesitant relationship with the young recipient only to find out her daughter may not be as dead as she thought.” Alfonso Gomez-Rejon serves as executive producer and will direct the pilot for the series that

Netflix is to release Federico D’Alessandro‘s sci-fi action-thriller Tau worldwide this June. Maika Monroe (It Follows), Ed Skrein (Deadpool), and Gary Oldman (Darkest Hour) in the film that “follows a once street-smart grifter, Julia (Monroe) who is the latest victim kidnapped and held captive in a fatal experiment. Joe Hill’s Locke And Key Finds A Home At Netflix

Joe Hill‘s graphic novel Locke and Key has been picked up by Netflix. The new series adaptation from the son of Stephen King will be developed by the streaming giant after the pilot was failed to be ordered to series by Hulu. Featuring a new script, cast, and director, the series will be developed by Hill and showrunner Carlton Cuse. Andy Muschietti, who directed the pilot for Hulu will be an executive producer for the new series, THR reports. The series centers on “three siblings who, after the gruesome murder of their father move to their ancestral home in Maine only to find the house has magical keys that give them an array of powers. Little do they know, a devious demon also wants the keys and will stop at nothing to attain them.”

First Look At Netflix’s New Adult Animated Series “Disenchantment”

What do you get when you put a drunken princess, a demon, and an elf together? You get Netflix’s new series “Disenchantment”, from Matt Groening, the man behind “The Simpsons” and “Futurama”. Thanks to a new series of images, we get our first look at some of the characters we’ll meet in the first 20 episodes (below). In the series, viewers will visit “the crumbling medieval kingdom of Dreamland, where they will follow the misadventures of hard-drinking young princess Bean, her feisty elf companion Elfo, and her personal demon Luci. Along the way, the oddball trio will encounter ogres, sprites, harpies, imps, trolls, walruses, and lots of human fools.” Abbi Jacobson (“Bean”), Nat Faxon (“Elfo”) and Eric Andre (“Luci”), lend their voice to the characters along with John DiMaggio, Billy West, Maurice LaMarche, Tress MacNeille, David Herman, Matt Berry, Jeny Batten, Rich Fulcher, Noel Fielding, and Lucy Montgomery. Guillermo Del Toro’s New Series ’10 After Midnight’ Coming To Netflix

Guillermo del Toro (The Shape of Water) is bringing a new series to Netflix. Titled “Guillermo del Toro Presents: 10 After Midnight”, the series will be the first anthology for Netflix, which already streams del Toro’s animated series “Trollhunters“. Featuring del Toro’s personally curated stories, the anthology is said to be both sophisticated and horrific. Several episodes of 10 After Midnight will be directed by del Toro himself. Del Toro will once again team up with The Shape of Water’s producer J. Miles Dale. The two will be executive producing alongside Exile Entertainment’s Gary Ungar, Deadline reports.

Francesca Reale Boards ‘Stranger Things’ For Season 3

“Haters Back Off” actress Francesca Reale has joined the cast of “Stranger Things” third season. Reale will play the recurring role of Heather, a popular lifeguard at the Hawkins community pool and will find herself at the center of a dark mystery, Variety reports. Netflix Enters ‘In The Tall Grass’ Adaptation – From Stephen King And Joe Hill

Netflix has snagged the adaptation of Stephen King and Joe Hill‘s (King’s son) In the Tall Grass. With the continuing interest in King’s work and the multitude of adaptations of his writings headed our way, it’s no surprise that Netflix is on the bandwagon. But the giant streaming service is not new to King’s tales, they released the adaptation Gerald’s Game last year along with 1922. “Westworld” actor James Marsden is currently in negotiations to star in the film directed by Vincenzo Natali (Cube, Splice), Variety reports. In the film, “after hearing a young boy’s cry for help, a sister and brother venture into a vast field of grass in Kansas but soon discover that there may be no way out. ” Splice’s Steve Hoban, Jimmy Miller from Mosaic, and M. Riley will produce. Miller and Riley together produced 2015’s The Lazarus Effect. In the Tall Grass will begin production in Toronto this Summer.

Santa Clarita Diet Renewed For Its Thrid Season

If you aren’t watching Netflix’s zomedy (zombie comedy) Santa Clarita Diet, then I might question your tastes. The series a gore-filled, fun ride. And Drew Barrymore and Timothy Olyphant are a great fit. Fans will be happy to learn that the hit series has been renewed for season 3! Slated to return in 2019, the third season will feature 10 episodes. In the meantime, you can catch up on the first two seasons now streaming on Netflix (or here).
