Netflix has announced two new cast members for their dark “Sabrina the Teenage Witch” series adaption of the graphic novel, Variety reports. Unlike the ‘Sabrina the Teenage Witch’ that aired from ’96 to 2003, this series will be a dark drama. Sabrina finds herself wrestling with her duel-nature, half witch, half human while trying to find her way she will fight the evil force that threatens her and her family. Chance Perdomo is set to play Ambrose Spellman, Sabrina’s warlock cousin from London. Ambrose has been put on house arrest by the Witches Council and is stuck in the funeral home where he lives with the Spellman women. ‘Doctor Who’ actress Michelle Gomez has been cast as Mary Wardell, Sabrina’s favorite teacher and mentor. When Mary is possessed by the devil’s handmaiden, Madam Satan, Ms. Wardell is changed into a cunning manipulator always tempting to lure Sabrina down a dark path. Netflix has unveiled a new trailer for their February release, The Ritual, starring Rafe Spall (The BFG), Robert James-Collier (Downtown Abbey), Arsher Ali (Four Lions), and Sam Troughton (The Hollow Crown). The intense trailer reveals a group of terrified friends as they make their way down off of a mountain after saying goodbye to one of their own. The film centers on four old friends from college who set out to hike through the Scandinavian wilderness after the death of their best friend. When a wrong turn leads them into the wilderness, part of a Norse Legend, they are stalked by something evil. David Bruckner directed the film which was written by BAFTA-nominated screenwriter Joe Barton (Humans, iBoy), based on Adam Nevill’s novel of the same name. Imaginarium’s Jonathan Cavendish developed the project and produced alongside Richard Holmes. This February, arriving on Netflix is Duncan Jones’ Mute starring Alexander Skarsgård as a bartender who goes up against the city’s gangsters to find answers about his missing partner in this futuristic thriller. Set in the near-future, Leo (Skarsgård) is a bartender living in Berlin.Leo lost the ability to speak in a childhood accident. The only good thing in his life is his beautiful girlfriend Naadirah (Seyneb Saleh). When she vanishes without a trace, Leo’s search for her takes him deep into the city’s seedy underbelly. A pair of wise-cracking American surgeons (Paul Rudd and Justin Theroux) are the only recurring clue and Leo is forced to take on this teeming underworld in order to find his love. If you’ve been patiently waiting for Netflix’s Godzilla: Planet of the Monsters, the first Godzilla anime film, you’ll be excited to learn that it will be arriving later this month. Godzilla: Planet of the Monsters, the first film of a new trilogy from Toho, was directed by Kobun Shizuno and was voiced by Yuuki Kaji, Takahiro Sakurai, Mamoru Miyano, Junichi Suwabe, Kana Hanazawa, and Tomokazu Sugita. Set 20,000 years in the future, the film reveals that monsters have taken over the planet, human civilization has been destroyed, and the remaining survivors have fled to outer space. Haruo, a young man who witnessed his parents killed by Godzilla, leads a group of explorers back to earth in an attempt to reclaim it from the monstrous beasts. Netflix will unleash Godzilla on January 17, 2018.

Back in December, we reported that a new Netflix series adaption of the comic ‘Chilling Adventures of Sabrina’ was on its way. Today we can report that lead role of Sabrina has been cast. Kiernan Shipka (Mad Men) will play Sabrina Spellman in the dark, upcoming series that is already greenlit for two seasons. Shipka’s character has been described as: “An empowered young woman, half-human, half-witch, Sabrina is just beginning her dark education as a sorceress, even as she tries to maintain a normal life as a sophomore at Baxter High. Intelligent, compassionate and brave to the point of recklessness, Sabrina is all that stands between us and the forces of darkness that threaten our world.” The series is from the team behind ‘Riverdale’, Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, Berlanti Productions, and Warner Bros. The trailer has now debuted for Netflix’s upcoming thriller The Open House starring Don’t Breathe actor Dylan Minnette. The film centers on a teenager (Minnette) and his mother (Piercey Dalton) who find themselves besieged by threatening forces after moving into their new home. “You can’t lock out what’s already inside.” Written and directed by Dan Angel and Chip Rosenbloom, the film is set in a town where the people are strange and bizarre events take place behind locked doors.
