When Winona Ryder confirmed, in August of 2015, that a sequel to Beetlejuice was in the works, fans were over the moon. Not long after, news came that Seth Grahame-Smith (Pride and Prejudice and Zombies) had been hired to pen the script. Today we can report that Tim Burton has confirmed that he will be directing Beetlejuice 2 and Winona Ryder, who played Lydia Deetz, and Michael Keaton, who played Beetlejuice in the 1988 classic, will both be returning for the long-awaited sequel. Geena Davis has also expressed interest, but has not been signed at this time. In an interview with Showbiz Spy, Burton gave a huge update. “The film is a go and has been approved by Warner Bros., we have talked with the cast members we wanted for the film and they are all on board, this includes both Winona and Michael,” Burton stated. “We have the script in hand – everything is in place all we need

One of 2014’s best indie films is a horror-comedy by the name of WolfCop, written and directed by Lowell Dean. Back in December of 2015 we reported that a sequel was in the works. Dean announced earlier this afternoon via Twitter that WolfCop 2 has officially wrapped filming. I caught up with Lowell Dean today. He had the following to say about WolfCop 2. “I had an amazing time on the WolfCop shoot. It was intense and insane, but we has a passionate and talented team both in front of and behind the camera and I can’t wait for the world to see this crazy movie.” In the first film we are introduced to Lou Garou (Leo Fafard), a lazy alcoholic and a poor excuse for a cop, that is until he is transformed into an ass kicking werewolf, with a taste for justice. One night while out on a call to break up a party out in the woods,

Fox’s upcoming series adaption of William Blatty’s 1971 novel, The Exorcist, is picking up speed. Two weeks ago Fox announced that the Scream Queen actress Brianne Howey had been cast as Charlotte, their version of Regan. Geena Davis has since joined the cast along with Alfonso Herrera (Sense8), Ben Daniels (House of Cards) and Kurt Egiawan (Beasts of No Nation) and Hannah Kasulk. Davis has been cast as Angela Rance, a regal and proud woman, under tremendous stress, trying to keep her faith and stay positive while her family is going through hell. The series, penned by Jeremy Slater (The Lazarus Effect), has been described as a modern reinvention of the novel that was also adapted into William Friedkin’s horror classic by the same name. The series follows two very different men, Father Marcus Lang (Daniels) and Father Tomas Ortega (Herrera) , as they tackle a family’s terrifying case of demonic possession. Earlier today news came via Dread Central that the Weinstein Co. has cancelled the release of Amityville: The Awakening. The film was scheduled for release on April 1st, 2016, but now won’t make into theaters until January 6th, 2017. Amityville: The Awakening has already been delayed, renamed, and recut several times. It was originally scheduled for release back in September of 2014. Supposedly, the reason for the date change, this time, is because the studio does not want to go up against Batman v. Superman in theaters. Jennifer Jason Leigh (The Hateful Eight), Bella Thorne (Blended), Jennifer Morrison (Once Upon a Time), Cameron Monaghan (Shameless), Thomas Mann (Project X) and Robo Cop’s Kurtwood Smith star in Amityville: The Awakening, written and directed by Franck Khalfoun (Maniac) with Jason Blum of Blumhouse Productions serving as producer for the film. The film follows Joan (Jennifer Jason Leigh), a single Mother, and her three children, one who is very ill. They have relocated

Arnold Schwarzenegger played one of his most iconic roles as “Dutch” in John McTiernan’s 1987 horror/sci-fi classic Predator. The original was the film only of the franchise that Schwarzenegger appeared in, but that may be changing. Word is, Schwarzenegger may be joining the cast for Shane Black’s upcoming sequel, The Predator. Black, who also directed Iron Man 3, is no stranger to the Predator franchise, which spawned several. In fact, Black starred in the 1987 original along side Schwarzenegger. Black played the role of Hawkins, one of the commandos in the film, sent into the jungles of Central America to rescue a group of hostages, only to find themselves hunted by an extraterrestrial warrior. “I haven’t talked with him (Shane Black) yet but I’m going to meet with him for lunch sometime soon.” Schwarzenegger told The Arnold Fans, a Schwarzenegger fan site. “Just as soon as I’m finished with this (Arnold’s Sports Festival) and “The Celebrity Apprentice” and all this

With Hollywood’s obsession with remakes and reboots on the big screen, it’s no surprise that the trend of rehashing fan favorites is now moving to television. One of the most popular TV series in the horror genre from 1998-2006 was the bewitching tale of three sisters, all witches. If you guessed that I’m talking about Charmed, you’d be right. Since 2013 a remake of the show has been in the works, but with little mention of it the news had been forgotten by most, until now. An update came recently from Alyssa Milano, one of the original cast members. Milano not only revealed that the reboot of Charmed is now in development over at CBS, but that the original cast would not be returning. She also seems to imply that if CBS decided to do a reunion show she and others from the series would be interested. “Charmed fans! Nothing has been confirmed. CBS is developing a reboot without the

This past September we reported that Italian filmmaker Luca Guadagnino was set to remake Dario Aregento’s 1977 film Supiria. Film critic Alex Heller-Nicholas revealed over a series of tweets earlier this week about his interview with Guadagnino, revealing several new pieces of information about the remake, which is set to open in theaters in 2017, including that Fifty Shades of Grey’s Dakota Johnson will be starring along side talented actress Tilda Swinton (Constantine, The Chronicles of Narnia). It was also revealed by Guadagnino that the film will be set in Berlin in 1977. And that the film will be “…about the mother and the concept of motherhood and about the uncompromising force of motherhood. It’s going to be about finding your inner voice – the title is very evocative on theses grounds.” In Argento’s original a young ballet dancer travels to a prestigious dance academy in Europe, only to discover it a front for something far more sinister and supernatural

Back in December we learned that a sequel was in the works for Deathgasm, one of 2015’s best and most creative horror films. We reported then that writer-director Jason Lei Howden posted a photo on Instagram of the finished script, stating that gorehounds will be in for a big treat. “There is literally more gore in the first ten minutes than the entire first #deathgasm.” Howden continued “If you kinda liked the first, this will make your head implode. If you thought the first Deathgasm was puerile, juvenille and dumb Goremageddon will melt your face off and force you to barricade yourself inside, safe with some Terrance Malik of Coldplay.” Now, Deathgasm: Goremegeddon has moved into the early stages of production. We can expect Goremegeddon to rock theaters sometime in 2017. For those of you who haven’t seen this heavy metal, head-splitting gore fest, I recommend that you do so immediately. The film follows a band who have unwittingly unleashed
