An Interview With Michael Kehoe Writer/Director Of ‘Hush’.

Michael Kehoe has had a long history in Hollywood. He began his career as Sylvester Stallone’s assistant during the filming of ‘Rocky IV (1985). In 1994 Kehoe had directed the short film ‘Second Dance’ that was an official selection at Sundance. Since then the writer/producer/director has been very busy. He has been involved with such movies as ‘Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D’, ‘Star Trek: Into Darkness’ and ‘7500’. Now Kehoe is now working on a new film titled ‘Hush’. The ‘Hush’ short, which is designed to help Kehoe raise money for filming the full length movie, is taking film festivals by storm. The short has already won twenty awards and the festival season is not over yet. I was lucky enough to see the full short and trust me when I tell you that it’s impressive. ‘Hush’ is dark and scary. I watched it at 2:00 am and caught myself pulling my feet up off the floor. You can watch the

Game Review: The Evil Within (2014)

Title : The Evil Within Publisher : Bethesda Softworks Developer : Tango Gameworks Genre : Third Person Survival Horror Players : 1 Release Date : October 14th 2014 Platforms : XBOX 360, XBOX One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2 and Windows PC Towards the tail end of 2009, I started to hear rumblings that the Godfather of Survival Horror Shinji Mikami was working on a brand new Horror game. There was no title or anything just speculation. For those of you who do not know Mikami is the creator of the original Survival Horror game Resident Evil. A game in which I can remember being scared out of my mind playing in 1996 when I was 12 years old. By the way, look for me to shed some light on that game soon as the release of the HD remake of Resident Evil has hit most gaming download services (i.e. Xbox Live, PlayStation Network & Steam). As information started to be

Omega Zombie by Allen Gandy

Omega Zombie is the second title I have read by Alan Gandy. (The first of which was a collaboration comic called Them.) This book is as unique as it gets. To give you a slight insight into the book’s style, I provide the description from Amazon. “Hello and goodbye. My name is Penny Goodfellow and I am about to die. Again… After tonight, there will be no more monsters. You see, I’m the last.” Great start, right? Originality 5/5 If it were possible to give a book a higher rating on originality, I would definitely do so for Omega zombie. The premise is delightfully ridiculous. (I will do my best to avoid spoilers, as always, but there were zombies, vampires, mention of fishmen, and Satanists come to bring forth the anti-christ. Oh boy!) The narrator is a 15 year old girl, and it is her destiny to destroy the world rather than to destroy it. This book flips the script

Movie Review: The Taking Of Deborah Logan (2014)

A group of documentary filmmakers visit the home of Deborah Logan and her daughter to make a film about the effects of Alzheimer’s. Deborah is experiencing the later affects of the disease, or so they thought. Soon the filmmakers begin to notice odd things captured on the video tapes. It is not long before it is clear to them that something more sinister is at work. Jill Larson plays the role of Deborah Logan and she does an incredible job. Larson was a regular on ‘All My Children’ and also starred in the movie ‘Shutter Island’ (2010). The role of Sarah, Deborah’s dedicated daughter, was played by Anne Ramsey (‘Dexter’). The documentary filmmakers were played by Michelle Ang (‘Outrageous Fortune’) , Jeremy DeCarlos (‘Ben 10’) and Brett Gentile (‘We’re The Millers’). The Taking Of Deborah Logan was written by Gavin Heffernan and Adam Robitel. Writer/director Adam Robitel (X-Men) really did a great job on this movie. This movie hits from

Zombie Rules by David Achord

Zach Gunderson’s life sucked and then the zombie apocalypse began. Rick, an aging Vietnam veteran, alcoholic, and prepper, convinces Zach that the apocalypse is on the horizon. The two of them take refuge at a remote farm. As the zombie plague rages, they face a terrifying fight for survival. They soon learn however that the walking dead are not the only monsters. Originaltiy 5/5 & Entertainment 5/5 In Zombie Rules David Achord successfully executes the premise that you are reading a zombie novel told from the perspective of a teenager. What makes this particular book unique, aside from the perspective itself, are the events which unfold. Zach’s world collapses shortly before the rest of the world follows suit. Eight of the initial chapters are spent following Zach through his every day life and establishing that he does in fact have prime reason to be miserable. His parents are dead, his grandmother falls ill suddenly after a stroke and passes shortly

The Evil Within : a Nod to the Resident Evil franchise

Title : The Evil Within Publisher : Tango Gameworks Developer : Bethesda Genre : Survival Horror Players : 1 Player Release Date : Oct, 2014 Estimated Value (as of today’s date): $49.99-$59.99 When all else fails, and you’re looking for a game to kill some time (and kill your sleep habit), always put your faith in the latest survival horror. We’re in a day and age now where gaming has gone beyond cheap “scare tactic” parlor tricks and jump fright tactics. Now a game plays more like an in depth movie with intertwining plot twists and major character developments. These aren’t your average games anymore. Since the days of Resident Evil yore on the Playstation where you dreaded every moment you stepped through a door into the next room, I have been waiting for a game to give me a similar feeling of impending doom. Luckily, The Evil Within comes pretty damn close to that. I can’t say it was

Teacher Faces Jail Time For Showing Horror Movie

Teacher Sheila Kearns An Ohio teacher named Sheila Kearns could be facing jail time for showing classes the 2012 horror movie ‘ABC’s Of Death’. The 58 year old substitute teacher will stand trail on five felony charges of “disseminating matter harmful to juveniles”. The teacher showed five Spanish classes, who’s students’ ages ranged from 14-18, the film. She was caught by the principle and then claimed to be unaware of it’s content. Her argument was that she does not speak Spanish herself. Each charge could earn Kearns a year of jail time and a fine of up to $2,500. She has since been terminated by the Board of Education. Personally, I can not imagine how she did not notice the movies content the first time she showed it. You would think that she would have seen what was playing while showing it five times. For those of you who are unfamiliar with ‘ABC’s Of Death’ let me explain further. The

Movie Review: Horns (2015)

This afternoon I was lucky enough to snatch up the last copy of ‘Horns’ off the shelf of my local Wal-Mart. As soon as I got home I sat down to see for myself what all the buzz was about. I was immediately drawn into the tragic love story of a young woman, Merrin, who was murdered and a town convinced that her boyfriend “Ig” is her killer. Iggy, played by Daniel Radcliffe , is hell bent on finding the identity of her killer and bringing them to justice. After a drunken night Ig wakes up to find horns sprouting from his head. The strange horns have unique powers. Everyone who faces Ig must confess to him their darkest truths and cannot help but follow Ig’s commands. The effects and makeup in ‘Horns’ are fantastic. The imagery was incredible. ‘Horns’ truly has an amazing cast and Daniel Radcliffe really brings his character to life. I don’t think anyone could have

Voodoo Plague by Dirk Patton

Voodoo Plague by Dirk Patton is an excellent book and although I hate to end the year on the start of a series, I’m thrilled to be able to round out 2014 on a positive note! The book was published just one year ago this month, so I’m grateful to be able to recommend it so highly so recently after its first birthday. Synopsis: John Chase has just arrived in Atlanta on a business trip when America experiences the worst attacks in history. Nuclear bombs destroy cities and the widespread release of nerve gas sends the majority of the surviving population into a murderous rage. Rescuing a woman who survived the attacks he must lead her to safety as Atlanta burns, raging infected roam unchecked and society disintegrates into savagery. Entertainment 5/5 & Writing Style 5/5 This novel is clever, fast paced, and incredibly engaging. The narration is in the first person perspective and the characters are incredibly likable. This,

An Interview With KRUEL’s Director Robert Henderson

I recently had the pleasure of interviewing Robert Henderson, the director of Sunset Studios’ new indie movie KRUEL, a horror/thriller about an obsessed psychotic ice cream man who stalks and abducts a young woman. KRUEL will be in select theaters May 29, 2015. You can read the full article about KRUEL here: https://horrorfuel.com/horror/reviews-horror/a-first-look-at-kruel-2015 “Writer/director Robert Henderson fell in love with movies at a young age, in large part due to his mother’s (a former stage actor) love for everything entertainment. Before her death at a relatively early age, he promised her he would one day succeed in the passion they both shared. After attending the University of Colorado, where he studied theater as a minor, he began to pursue his passion as an actor and eventual screen writer. He co-wrote the drama To Heir is Human which was directed by his brother. He almost got his first big break when Universal Studios accepted his western script Come Hell or High-water
