Two jobs that sound stressful and never should be combined a 911 operator and radio DJ. That’s what happens in Team 17’s first-person black comedy Killer Frequency! In Killer Frequency, players take on the role of Forest Nash, a late-night radio DJ who was given the task of also acting as a 911 operator after all the phones in the town that the station is in can’t make outside calls as the local serial killer long thought dead has returned, and Forest and his producer have to help callers from becoming the killer’s next victims. Now onto the game itself! Killer Frequency‘s controls are a bit over-complicated on console controls as it’s quickly apparent that this game is more meant for VR gameplay as you need to use too many buttons in certain sequences to do things, not fun for a game where at certain moments you have to be quick. Russell Crowe, best known for his role in Ridley Scott’s brilliant 2000 film Gladiator, stars as Father Gabriele Amorth in 2023’s possession horror, The Pope’s Exorcist, currently available on Digital and VOD. Directed by Julius Avery, the film sees Father Amorth, the Vatican’s leading exorcist, as he investigates the possession of a child, leading to him uncovering a conspiracy the Vatican has tried to keep secret for centuries. Crowe and all the cast did well in their roles, making the characters feel believable and making it easy to connect with them. I was very impressed with the young actor Peter DeSouza-Feighoney who played the part of the possessed boy, Henry, a role that was both dark and very physical. At just 12, he nailed it. Crowe’s character’s witty banter adds a bit of comic relief to the intense scenes, which I can’t decide is a good thing or if it is a distraction. The cast also includes Franco Nero, Ralph

DND Dice has a decent size collection of a variety of dice to suit your playing style and character needs, and they were awesome enough to send me a pack of dice just in time to get into the summer slasher groove so a big thank you for that! Let me introduce you to the Blood Splatter Dice Set! I was given the 10-die set that has the standard RPG dice but includes a D-30, D-60, and the eye-catching D-100. As the name implies, and that you can see, the die are white with blood splatter on it, safe to assume if Jason Voorhees played DnD these would be his dice for sure. This dice set would be perfect for the cruelest of DMs who enjoy snuffing out adventurers

A greasy, razzle-dazzle showbiz type is sent plummeting to his doom from within the unreasonably pink confines of a mansion formerly owned by a deceased warlock named Avery Lauter (J.P. Luebsen). In order to put an end to that wicked warlock, Lauter’s relative, Devon (played with wooden panache by the film’s writer/director Kevin Tenney, who also brought us 1986’s Witchboard, and 1988’s absolute masterpiece Night of the Demons… among many others), assembles a paranormal Suicide Squad consisting of a hodge-podge of mediums, ghost hunters, and security agents, lead by Dr. Agnes Goldberg (Judy Tatum, who arrives in the picture completely tits-out in the tub, as one does) and featuring none-other than legendary scream queen Linnea Quigley (who provides the film’s most memorable death sequence as well as it’s most memorable nudity… as is her wonderful way!) as the team’s videographer Ginger, to complete the task. Out of all the character-rich world of Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings that are deserving of a game, the last individual you would expect would be the former Hobbit turned ghoul, Smeagol, or as he’s known by his more nefarious nickname/personality, Gollum, who is reviled in the books but was sort of a fan favorite in the Peter Jackson films thanks in part to the talent of Andy Serkis who voiced, and motion captured the character. Anyone who’s seen the movies is familiar with Gollum’s part in the stories of the Hobbit and Lord of the Rings films, but not about what happened to him between the events of the two film series. Warhammer has been around for a while now as a tabletop wargame that has an expansive universe with different themes, the most popular being Warhammer 40K which takes epic fantasy to space. The series recently is garnering a lot of attention as talks of bringing the popular installment of the tabletop wargame to screen through Amazon Studios with the help of Warhammer fanboy, Henry Cavill. A fiery explosion in space results in a meteor that is sent hurdling towards Earth. Meanwhile down on the ground, a young boy named Tommy (Óscar Martín, who appears to be having the time of his life) witnesses the meteor hurtling towards our beloved globe (in a sequence that proves the sound department on this one has zero clue what a kitten sounds like) while some dudes, poachers by disgusting trade, ass-around in the nearby day-for-night forest. Well, said dudes do both the fucking around, and the finding out as they encounter that meteor and the eggs it contains… eggs that are hatching! Because all of that was moving along at a good clip, we cut to rock n’ roll Rick (Ian Sera) who provides a song about fast cars sung with the lowest amount of energy possible before he and his pals trek off to the woods for some rest and relaxation. Our fiendish friends over at Severin Films have gathered up four Italian gothic horror films, slapped them in a (beautifully embellished) box, and unleashed them on our arcane asses under the title of the Danza Macabre collection. Let’s feast our putrid peepers on what this set has to offer one by fright-filled one! Disc One brings us 1964’s The Monster of the Opera: This flick opens with a banger of a scene in which a vampire chases a young woman in a nightgown before trapping her behind an invisible wall and trying to dispatch her with a pitchfork! Flash forward and dynamic theater director Sandro (Marco Mariani) has moved his troupe of actors, dancers, and mimes into an abandoned theater despite being warned explicitly not to do so by the caretaker of the joltin’ joint, Achille (Alberto Archetti) by name, who witnessed the ghoulish goings-on mentioned up yonder!
