2014’s ‘Annabelle‘, the spin-off of ‘The Conjuring’, had good numbers at the box office ($84 Million) and as result, it’s getting a sequel. The Tracking Board first broke the news that the Gary Dauberman, who penned the original script, will be returning as writer for the next film. Unfortunately, it seems that ‘Annabelle’s’ director, John Leonetti, won’t be directing part 2. James Wan will be once again be serving as producer.
In the first film a loving husband gifts his pregnant wife with an antique doll for their baby’s nursery. When their neighbors are murdered the doll becomes possessed by one of their spirits. Soon the family is plagued with intense paranormal activity. ‘Annabelle’ was actually based on a true case handled by paranormal experts Ed and Lorraine Warren, though the doll was given a makeover for her film debut. The real Annabelle is actually a Raggedy-Anne doll.
