
The first casting news has arrived for The Nun, the spinoff of The Conjuring 2. The supernatural film, focusing on the demonic entity Vera Farmiga’s reality-based character, Lorraine Warren, came face to face with in the sequel to 2013’s hit The Conjuring.

THR is reporting that Alien: Covenant actor Demián Bichir will star as Father Burke, the priest dispatched by Rome to investigate the mysterious death of a nun.

Corin Hardy (The Hallow) is in the director’s chair for The Nun, which he co-wrote with James Wan and Gary Dauberman. Wan will also be producing alongside Peter Safran.
Set to open in theaters nationwide on July 13, 2017, little else is known about The Nun at this point, except that the film has already entered production. But we will let you know when find out more.
