Blumhouse and QC Entertainment have teamed up to produce a new horror film titled ‘Get Out’. The writer/director is new to the horror genre, but not new to entertainment. You would more than likely recognize Jordan Peele as one half of the comedy duo of Key and Peele. Peele has had a successful series on Comedy Central for the past five seasons, but wants to take a turn behind the camera, in the horror genre. Peele had this to say about his new project:

“People know me for my work in comedy, but now I’ll get to focus on my passion for writing and directing horror films. Like Comedy, horror has an ability to provoke thought and further the conversation on real social issues in a very powerful way. Get Out takes on the task of exploring race in America, something that hasn’t really been done within the genre since Night of the Living Dead  47 years ago. It’s long over due.”

‘Get Out’ follows a young African American man as he visits his Caucasian girlfriend’s family at their estate. I’m curious to see how ‘Get Out’ develops. Peele’s first horror film, ‘Get Out’, should be released in late 2016 or early 2017.
