Movie Review: The Unseen (2016)

Bob Langmore (Aden Young); deadbeat dad, lumber mill worker, partially invisible…what, what the fuck now?!! Yeah, ol’ Bob made like a fuckin’ banana and split, leaving his wife Darlene (Camille Sutherland) and rebellious teen daughter Eva (Julia Sarah Stone) in his wake…to say nothing of a promising hockey career…to start over in a remote Canadian town. Why did he leave all that behind? Because he is slowly, painfully. turning invisible, which admittedly would tax the ol’ noggin a bit…and lately that “slowly” part is starting to speed up exponentially. Before long, Darlene calls Bob home to help wrangle in their daughter…but there’s one small problem; she goes missing, and Bob doesn’t take kindly to that, so he sets off on a mission of vengeance to find her…all before he vanishes altogether. The Unseen is a unique take on the whole “invisible man” trope. For one thing we get the troubled every man who is dealing with an outre condition (the

Opinion: Remaking ‘Resident Evil 4’ Would Be A Bad Idea

CAPCOM’s biggest release of 2018, Resident Evil 2, was a hit with critics and fans, myself included. The game is a remake of the original but not in a traditional “remake” sense. With the exception of the Orphanage level and a few extra scenes (or scene rewrites), the overall plot was the same along with the stories of the game’s two main heroes Claire and Leon. The major changes to RE2 obviously were the graphics and art making it more detailed to a real-world scenario, and the adoption of the third-person over-the-shoulder view for players, the first time this was seen in the “Resident Evil” game series was the 4th installment of the game, Resident Evil 4. There’s been some rumbling around the internet from fans wanting to see the RE2 remake magic happen again but with Resident Evil 4. The 2005 game took players out of Raccoon City and to a fictional location in Spain (where the locals spoke

The 91st Acadamy Awards is set to air on February 24th. While there has been controversy over the award show’s plans to skip airing four categories, which the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences have changed their mind about, there is something else about the awards we really need to discuss. When it comes to categories, there are winners for everything from Best Picture to Sound Mixing to Hair and Makeup, but there’s one category has been missing for way too long, Best Stunt Actor. If someone can win an award for the best hair in a film, why the hell aren’t the people who put themselves in danger to make movies considered good enough to award? Every day these actors put their lives on the line to make films bigger and better, with several actually losing their lives over the past few years.
