Glenn Close To Star As A Zombie In Amazon’s ‘Sea Oak’

Oscar nominee and Golden Globe winner Glenn Close has signed for her second role in the zombie genre. Close starred in last year’s buzzed about film The Girl with All the Gifts. Now, Close has joined the cast of Amazon’s upcoming half-hour dark comedy series Sea Oak, penned by George Saunders. The series centers on Close’s character, who is an unmarried, childless woman living in Rust Belt City. After she is killed in a home invasion, she returns from the grave, “…full of rage and determined to get the life she never had. She proceeds to inflict a range of demands on what’s left of her nuclear family, including a quasi-stripper nephew and two feckless nieces, who live in a low-end subsidized hellhole of a housing complex called Sea Oak.”

Suki Waterhouse Gets Mutilated In The New Clip From ‘The Bad Batch’

You have to give a hand to writer-director Ana Lily Amirpour, the new clip from The Bad Batch is intense and brutal, featuring Suki Waterhouse bound, drugged and mutilated. Set in a world filled with violence, cannibals, cults, bad guys, and thieves, The Bad Batch gives off a serious Mad Max meets The Hills Have Eyes feel, and we like it. The film, a dystopian love story, has some serious star power including names like Jason Momoa, Keanu Reeves, Jim Carey, Diego Luna, Giovanni Ribisi, and Waterhouse. In The Bad Batch, “Arlen (Waterhouse) is unceremoniously dumped in a Texas wasteland fenced off from civilized society. While trying to orient her unforgiving environment, she is captured by a savage band of cannibals and quickly realizes she’ll have to fight her way through her new reality. As Arlen adjusts to life in “the bad batch”, she discovers that being good or bad mostly depends on whom you’re standing next to.” The Bad

After an eight years wait, the long-awaited sequel to Bryan Bertino’s frightening home invasion thriller The Strangers is finally on it’s way. Johannes Roberts, whose shark infested film 47 Meters Down opened in theaters this weekend, is at the helm for The Strangers 2 which has now begun filming. Roberts has said that the film, written by Bertino and Ben Ketai, will have a heavy John Carpenter influence. I’m in week two of filming. I looks absolutely incredible,” Roberts told Dread Central. “I love Bertino’s film, I think it’s an amazing movie and tonally this movie is going to fit very well into that universe. It has a real strong emotional heart, which the first one did, and it has a very cool retro feel to it, a lot of sort of references to… I mean, I always bring a lot of John Carpenter with me because that’s what I grew up on, but also maybe going back a bit

The Witch’s Black Philip Makes His Second Appearance In A Horror Film

There’s a rising star in the genre, but he’s not human. For those of you who saw 2015’s amazing film The Witch, you know who Black Philip is. The creepy, horned black goat was much more than he appeared. It turns out that The Witch was just his debut. The 200-pound goat, whose real name is Charlie, has now starred in his second horror film, the highly anticipated film It Comes At Night (review), from director Trey Edward Shults which is now in theaters. Both films were released by A24. Coincidence? In an interview with MIC stars of It Comes at Night, Christopher Abbot and Riley Keough, admitted that the goat in the film is indeed Charlie. It was literally the same goat,” Abbot said. “He or she wasn’t as featured in our movie, but [it was the] same goat actor. It must just be A24’s goat. It’s in the mailing room, too. That’s a fun little fact. People are

Film ‘The Answer’ Is A Surprisingly Great Thriller

One of my favorite parts about this job is the fact that here and there I get to watch movies that I would have otherwise been oblivious to. I love the fact that I get exposed to new directors, new actors, new plots and new movies before the lay audience. I admit, sometimes those movies I watch should have remained in oblivion, but that is not the case with Iqbal Ahmed’s thriller ‘The Answer’. The first item to address complaint about this film is the “Saw meets The Fugitive” tagline in the press release. I can get on board with it being akin to ‘The Fugitive’ but I didn’t really see any parallels or even allusions to ‘Saw’. That, however, is not a bad thing, but misleading. I found the film to be and they even squeezed in a little romance (but I’ll talk more about that last one later). I have actually found it somewhat difficult to do a

‘TSUNAMBEE’ Buzzes In From Beyond The Grave

So you’ve seen killer bee movies, and you’ve seen zombie movies, but have you ever seen a killer bee zombie movie? I didn’t think so, but that’s the crazy genre blending TSUNAMBEE is going to get you. Starring a diverse cast of gangbangers and hillbillies, not to mention roving hordes of undead insects, anyone looking to get a trashy fix of murderous bug action could do a lot worse. The film isn’t perfect, and at times the films low budget shines through (there are a lot of scenes featuring folks standing around and chatting, not so many of the killer bees themselves) but it has a zany sense of energy that more polished affairs are often missing. TSUNAMBEE is currently available on VOD and Horrorfuel will be featuring an interview with the director next week. So go ahead and get your buzz on, and give TSUNAMBEE a watch.
