We Haven’t Seen The Last Of The X-Files

It’s hard to believe that The X-Files revival is already over. It’s an understatement to say that fans want more. The finale ended in a real cliffhanger, with Mulder and much of the world sick or dying thanks to the Smoking Man. After the finale fans took to social media with an over whelming cry for a new season. Series creator Chris Carter is willing to do another season and Fox is interested in seeing that happen. The main issue is working around everyone’s schedule. “They’re going to ask for more. The ratings were very good. They were happy with the show.” Carter told THR. “I talked to Dana Walden today. She said they’d very much like more, but nothing’s negotiated yet.” Carter continued elaborating on his conversation with Walden. “It was casual, we like the way it worked out. So there’s an appetite for more in the future, it’s just a matter of figuring out how to get it

Witch Is It?

Once Again, What Is Cynema? Cynema is not about film reviews. I woke up to this HitFix article on the release of the anticipated horror, The Witch. An interviewer recently asked me what my thoughts were on the state of horror. What I think doesn’t matter. This morning’s article by Chris Eggertsen made me rethink my response. Is The Witch a horror movie? It reinforced my belief that The Shining isn’t a horror movie. I don’t think torture porn films are horror either. They are two ends of a spectrum, maybe an apples and oranges kinda thing. I caught shit a year ago for this article on the zombie film: https://leglesscorpse.us/made-zombie-movie-open-letter-filmmaker-harrison-smith/ I argued that zombie films are simple and for the most part, that’s the reason for their popularity. Indie filmmakers love making them because they are cheap to make and simple to write. The plot for almost every zombie film is: survival. I feel they attract a base audience

Micheal Myers Coming To TV?

Back in December we reported that Halloween Returns had been put on hold. Now, the word is Malek Akkad, the producer of the Halloween franchise, may be looking to move in a different direction. Michael Myers may be coming to a TV near you for a “limited series event”, meaning it would be restricted to 3 to 5 seasons. According to Fangoria there are meetings being held with network representatives now. Halloween might make an interesting series, as long as they deal with the whole Michael only returns on Halloween issue in a good way. Until a studio and network pick up the show we have to take it with grain of salt, a lot of potential series and films never make it to completion. After all, Halloween Returns is in that situation right now. Would you like to see a Halloween television series? Let us know on Twitter.

Don Mancini Is Already Talking Cast And Filming Locations For Chucky 7

Last year we reported that Don Mancini, who created that little red-headed psycho killer doll, Chucky, was working on the seventh film of the franchise. A few days ago Mancini tweeted Jennifer Tilly , the actress who plays Tiffany, the love of Chucky’s life and his partner in crime, and posed a question “So @Jtillathekilla2 should we shoot Chucky 7 in Capetown?” Tilly responded with “Capetown is great. The crew is really professional and you can’t beat the weather!” It sounds as in Chucky 7 is preparing to enter production and that makes me excited. With Tilly involved, I would have to assume that the next film will be more like The Bride of Chucky than 2013’s Curse of Chucky, but you never know. Word is, Fiona Dourif, who went toe to toe with Chucky in The Curse of Chucky, will also be returning to fight the possessed Good Guy Doll again in Chucky 7. For those of you who

It Finally Happened On The Walking Dead – Richonne

WARNING SPOILERS! Last night on The Walking Dead’s episode 10 “The Next World”, we met a new character, Jesus, played by Tom Payne. What was meant to be an important introduction was over shadowed by something we’ve been waiting for for a while now, Rick and Michonne hooking up, and boy did they. In the final moments of the episode Rick was relaxing on the couch after a hard run spent chasing Jesus. Michonne came into the living room and sat down beside him. Rick gave Michonne a roll of mints he picked up on the run. Their hands met and intertwined. They gazed into each other’s eyes and leaned in for a kiss that quickly turned into to full blown passion. The scene skips to the both of them asleep in Rick’s bed naked after what could have only been an intense night passion. They hear a noise that woke them both up and they suddenly jump to their

Exclusive: Victor Miller’s Rock Paper Dead Companion Series Now Shopping For A Network

Victor Miller, the writer-creator of Friday the 13th, along with the film and series’ co-creator Kerry Fleming, is now shopping for a network for the companion television series to their upcoming Rock Paper Dead. Many details about the series are still being kept hush-hush, but we do know that Miller and Fleming have`a plan to bring in iconic horror film actors to appear in the series, in the form of cameos, guest spots or even recurring roles. “The concept for the crossover is similar to what Marvel has done with their superhero films. What we will be doing is a first in the horror genre. The show is designed to work hand in hand with the film. The same core characters, with expanding supporting roles. Besides writing the film screenplay, Victor and I, created a blueprint for the characters with story arcs that can be sustained for multiple movies and seasons of the series.” Kerry continued explaining to me, “We

What You Need To Know About The Walking Dead’s Jesus

WARNING SPOILERS! Last night on episode 10 of The Walking Dead we met Jesus, who gave Rick and Daryl a run for their money. Not only did Jesus put up a damn good fight, he slipped out of his restraints, stole Rick and Daryl’s ride, flew off a truck and broke into Rick’s bedroom, where he got an eye full. As you probably know by now Jesus, who’s full name is Paul Rovia on the show, Paul Monroe in the graphic novels. The name change may be confusing to those who’ve read the graphic novels, but in the long run it makes sense. The Walking Dead did not want him to be confused with the Monroe family from Alexandria (Deanna ect.). In the novels Jesus is from the Hilltop community, whose existence was unknown to the group, but we’ll learn all about that in the next episode. Things are tense over at Hilltop and Jesus is in search of outside
