Spike TV Orders The Series Adaption Of Stephen King’s The Mist

The television adaption of Stephen King’s 1980 novella The Mist has now gotten the go-ahead. Straight-to-series orders have been given from Spike TV, according to Deadline. The network ordered the pilot from Dimension Television for the series back in February and it sounds like they like what they’ve seen. The script for The Mist will be written by Christian Torpe, who will also serve as executive producer. The series will use both King’s novel and the 2007 film as inspiration. It will tell an original story about a mist, filled with otherworldly terrors, that takes over a small town. Tensions between neighbors escalates as the creatures in the mist draw closer, but they must find a way to band together to survive. The 2007 film adaption was written and directed by Frank Darabont and stars Thomas Jane, Laurie Holden, Sam Witwer and Melissa McBride. It was both terrifying and heart breaking. I look forward to seeing Spike TV’s version of

An Update Of The Adaptions Of Stephen King’s The Dark Tower, Revival & The Stand

The new adaptions of Stephen King’s The Dark Tower and The Stand have had many ups and downs over the past two years. Now, the remake of The Stand has been put on hold and the TV series has hit a dead end. The Gunslinger film is moving forward and a third King adaption, Revival, is in the works. “Right now it’s [The Stand] just in a holding pattern trying to figure out how to best make the movie because we’ve toyed with breaking it up into multiple movies, making it into one, making it into two. The latest draft, Josh Boone had written it and he was very anxious to make it but since then has written another script, Revival, which he’s gonna do beforehand, so were’ just waiting for that.” King’s Revival, starring Samuel L. Jackson, centers on a preacher who discovers the power to heal, but in true Stephen King fashion, the preacher unleashes a power he

The King Has Spoken – Stephen King On The Choice To Cast Idris Elba As The Gunslinger

There have been a lot comments on the decision to cast Idris Elba as “The Gunslinger” in Nikolaj Arcel’s upcoming adaption of The Dark Tower. I’ve heard both positive and negative remarks. Some have an issues with the choice because the actor and the character (in the book) are different races. It’s true, Roland (The Gunslinger) is Caucasian in the books, but should that dictate who is cast in the film? Stephen King spoke out via Twitter on the decision. King created the character, so I think his verdict should be important and of course, King makes a great point. Elba is a talented actor. Personally I believe he’ll do a great job. Elba has appeared in a large array of films and genres, always leaving me impressed by his performances. Not only did he star in Prometheus, he also had roles in Pacific Rim, Thor: The Dark World, Avengers: Age of Ultron, The Unborn, and many other films and
