Ashley Judd stars in the soon-to-be-released movie Lazareth, a heart-pounding thriller about isolation, survival, and the enduring strength of family. The new trailer is here, giving us a glimpse into the film ahead of its May premiere. Movie Review: Tubi Original 'Lowlifes' One of the Best Horror Movies of the Year

Movie Review: Tubi Original ‘Lowlifes’ One of the Best Horror Movies of the Year

For a while now, Tubi has been one of the best streaming services for horror. It features over 10,000 horror movies, more than any other streaming service, and the fact that it’s free doesn’t hurt. Tubi has been releasing originals for the past few years, but they’ve mostly flown under the radar. That has just changed. Tubi recently released an original titled Lowlifes. To my surprise, it is one of the best horror films of 2024. The film was directed by Tesh Guttikonda and Mitch Oliver from a script by Al Kaplan. Lowlifes was released without major fanfare, leaving it mainly overlooked by genre fans (until now). And that’s a shame. I expected the kind of low-budget flick we get with recycled plots. But that’s not what I got. The film sees a family on their yearly trip in an RV: a dad, a mom, a teen daughter, and a teen son. While the family looks beguine enough, the family

Spoiler-Free Film Review: “Witch”

Spoiler-Free Film Review: “Witch”

In Witch (U.K, 2024), codirectors Craig Hinde and Marc Zammit — who cowrote the screenplay with David Baboulene — have crafted a feature that combines gothic horror and folk horror with a science fiction element. In a small English town in 1575, young wife and mother Twyla (Sarah Alexandra Marks – KILL KANE, HELP) is falsely accused of witchcraft and will be put to death if found guilty. The young woman accusing her is Johanna (Mims Burton), who herself is on trial for murdering her parents — she even walked around the town holding both of their severed heads. Twyla’s blacksmith husband William (Ryan Spong) does everything he can to save her, even accepting the help of mysterious stranger Thomas (Russell Shaw). The main villains are the ruthless Judge Hopkins (Daniel Jordan), who seemingly never met a person he couldn’t accuse of something, and the local marshall (Fabrizio Santino), who follows the judge’s orders, sometimes at the threat of death.
