Wil Wheaton Wants To Be A Friend In The Retro Horror Thriller ‘Rent-A-Pal’

Writer-director Jon Stevenson wants to introduce to a new friend in Rent-A-Pal, the twisted thriller starring Wil Wheaton. Set in 1990, a lonely bachelor named David (Brian Landis Folkins) searches for an escape from the day-to-day drudgery of caring for his aging mother (Kathleen Brady). While seeking a partner through a video dating service, he discovers a strange VHS tape called ​Rent-A-Pal.​ Hosted by the charming and charismatic Andy (Wil Wheaton), the tape offers him much-needed company, compassion, and friendship. But, Andy’s friendship comes at a cost, and David desperately struggles to afford the price of admission. Wheaton (Stand By Me, “Star Trek: The Next Generation”), stars along with Brian Landis Folkins (Hoax), Kathleen Brady (“Breaking Bad”), and Amy Rutledge (Neighbor). Rent-A-Pal opens in select theaters and arrives On Demand on September 11, 2020, from IFC Midnight.

Adam Driver Joins Thriller ’65’ From The Team Behind ‘A Quiet Place’ & Ted Raimi

Star Wars actor and Academy Award nominee Adam Driver (Marriage Story) has signed on to star in Sony Pictures’ upcoming sci-fi thriller 65, which will be written and directed “A Quiet Place” writers Scott Beck and Bryan Woods, Variety reports. Beck and Woods are producing alongside Ted Raimi and Zainab Azizi for Raimi Production. Debbi Liebling will also produce. The studio is currently keeping the film’s plot close to the vest, but with these names involved, there’s no doubt it will be amazing.

Sci-Fi Thriller ‘Shifter’ Unleashed Today On VOD And On Demand

An experiment goes terribly wrong in director Jacob Burns‘ indie sci-fi thriller Shifter, which he co-wrote with Zach Burns. Nicole Fancher (Unchained Love), Ashley Mandanas (Golden Arm), Paul T. Taylor (Hellraiser: Judgment), and Jamie Brewster (The Adventures of Jurassic Pet: Chapter 1) star. Supernatural Thriller ‘Compound Fracture’ Brings Together Three Horror Icons

This August director Anthony J. Rickert-Epstein‘s Compound Fracture brings three horror icons together for a family drama wrapped in a ghost story. Starring horror icons Derek Mears (Friday the 13th), Tyler Mane (Halloween I & II), and Muse Watson (I Know What You Did Last Summer), the film was written by Mane and Renae Geerlings. In Compound Fracture, Michael Wolffsen, his fiancée, and nephew return to the family compound to care for his father, Gary, who has become paranoid and obsessed with making his home unassailable. While Michael initially believes that Gary is suffering from symptoms of dementia, they soon learn that Gary has good reason to fear. Something evil lurks outside the compound, and it wants every last one of them dead.
