Ash (Bruce Campbell) is partying hard in the first image from season 2 of Ash vs. Evil Dead. It seems Ash is living the good life after turning over the Necronomicon to Ruby (Lucy Lawless) in the season finale. But the party won’t last long according to executive producer Craig DiGregorio and Daily Dead. DiGregoria says that the “party is cut short when [Ash] must return home to continue the fight against evil.”
“The second season of the STARZ Original series “Ash vs Evil Dead” will be 10 half-hour episodes. The cast is led by Bruce Campbell (Evil Dead, Burn Notice) in the role of Ash Williams; Lucy Lawless (Salem, Spartacus) as Ruby, who now possesses the powerful Necronomicon; Ray Santiago (Touch, Meet The Fockers) as Pablo Simon Bolvier, Ash’s loyal sidekick dealing with the trauma he suffered in the cabin; and Dana DeLorenzo (A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas) as Kelly Maxwell, who, grief-stricken after the death of her parents, plots revenge against The Evil Dead.”
We reported awhile back that several new cast members have joined the series, including Michelle Hurd (Law & Order SVU) will play Ash’s high school sweetheart.
Hurd will co-star along side Lee Majors and Ted Raimi, one of the series’ executive producers. Raimi, who will play Ash’s childhood friend, Chet, is no stranger to the Evil Dead franchise, he appeared in all three of the films. In fact, his brother Sam directed the Evil Dead trilogy. Raimi, a horror genre legend, has been involved with films such as The Grudge, Midnight Meat Train and in TV series such as Supernatural and Twin Peaks. Majors, who will star as Brock, Ash’s father, has appeared in series such as Dallas, The Game, Weeds, The Six Million Dollar Man and many more.
Season one of Ash vs Evil Dead was incredible. I can not wait to see what season 2 will bring! Season 2 is expected to premiere some time this Fall.
