Kidnap Thriller ‘The Runners’ Is Headed To DVD And Digital This Summer

Micah Lyons, Tom Sizemore (Heat, Saving Private Ryan), and Glenn Morshower (“24”, Friday Night Lights) star in white-knuckle action-thriller The Runners, headed your way this summer. After losing their parents in a car accident, Ryan must raise his rebellious teenage sister, Zoe. One night, Zoe sneaks out to a party and is abducted by a charming older boy who intends to sell her to the cartel for human trafficking. Now, Ryan and his best friend have just hours to track them down and save her before she is sold and dragged across the Mexican border, never to be seen again. From directors Joey Loomis and Micah Lyons the movie also stars s Netty Leach, Joey Loomis, Neal McCoy, Glenn Morshower, Jason Peter Kennedy, and Swayde McCoy. The Runners arrives on DVD and Digital July 14, 2020, from Uncork’d Entertainment.

Blu-ray Review: White Fire (1984)

White Fire, or as I like to call it “What in the Fuck?!!“, is the tale of smart-ass brother and sister duo Bo (The Exterminator himself Robert Ginty) and Ingrid (Belinda Mayne)… and what a life they’ve had; to wit: They’ve seen their parents killed before their eyes thanks to some para-military thugs, become employees in a diamond mine who’s offices and administrative staff like they just tumbled out of the TV show V, and started a side-hustle as diamond thieves (beleaguered by Turkish criminals as is so often the case nowhere ever). Anyway, that last plot point only becomes more ludicrous when our heroes are privy to the discovery of the legendary white fire diamond, a preposterously sized gem that is so shit-hot it burns the flesh of any dumb ass who touches it… and after tragedy and a bar fight featuring roughly 4,567 mustaches, Bo sets out to pinch that rock pronto! Daniel Radcliffe Is On The Run In The New ‘Guns Akimbo’ Clip

We’ve got a new clip for the must-see dark, comedic, action flick Guns Akimbo starring Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter franchise) and Samara Weaving (Ready or Not). Writer-director Jason Lei Howden (Deathgasm)’s flick made its World Premiere at the Toronto Film Festival and is now headed to theaters, Digital and On Demand this February. Miles’ (Daniel Radcliffe) nerdy existence as a video game developer takes a dramatic turn when he inadvertently gets caught up as the next contestant with SKIZM, an underground gang live-streaming real-life deathmatches. While Miles excels at running away from everything, that won’t help him outlast Nix (Samara Weaving), a killer at the top of her game. Natasha Liu Bordizzo, Ned Dennehy, and Rhys Darby also star in this action-packed thrill ride produced by Joe Neurauter, Felipe Marino, and Tom Hern. Guns Akimbo blasts its way into theaters and slashes its way on to Digital and Demand on February 28th, from Saban Films.

Bruce Willis Will Battle An Alien In The Sci-fi Action Thriller ‘Anti-Life’

Blu-ray Review: The Perils of Gwendoline in the Land of the Yik Yak (1984)

Gwendoline (Tawny Kitaen) ships herself to China in a wooden box, and is immediately kidnapped upon her arrival to the Far East. Thankfully for her, rough and tumble sailin’ man Willard (Brent Huff) comes to her rescue and takes up the task of helping our heroine locate the butterfly her butterfly (that’s a lot of “butterfly” in one sentence… oh, shit… ) collector father went missing in the mythic land of the Yik Yak trying to find… for a fee of course. Along the way our erstwhile heroes must contend with river pirates, cannibals, poisonous clouds, and a tribe of Amazons that live in a hi-tech mine deep below the Earth… a serious ordeal all for a simple butterfly! Want to know something that exemplifies the surreal nature of The Perils of Gwendoline in the Land of the Yik Yak? Movie Review: Iron Sky: The Coming Race (2019)

Twenty years after the events of the first Iron Sky film (the 2012 flick that detailed Hitler’s exile to the dark side of the moon at the end of World War II where he plans his decades-in-the-making revenge…which ultimately was unsuccessful, but did lead to a freakin’ nuclear war, so there’s that) we pick up with the adventures of survivors of that aforementioned cataclysm taking up residence in the now abandoned Nazi moon base. All is not well however, as the colony is a mess, and the base is crumbling to shit. Things look up however when more folks from Earth arrive, and lend hope in the telling of tales concerning a secret city hidden deep within the bowels of the Earth. Obi Washington (Lara Rossi), the daughter of the colony’s leader Renate Richter (Julia Dietze), assembles a misfit team and heads down to the ol’ Big Blue Marble to see how viable this place is to set up shop.

GODZILLA VS. CYNEMA

Cynema or Not Cynema I started this blog not to review movies, but to examine the effects of cynicism on filmmaking. If you go through these posts you’ll find they aren’t reviews but rather how we view our entertainment and often take it for granted while lowering our acceptance standards. SPOILERS AHEAD! GOT IT? Warners and Legendary really hyped the marketing on Godzilla King of the Monsters and I gotta give props to the campaign. From the very first trailer, the strategy was to show this was a major departure from the Gareth Edwards 2014 film. Many will concur that a major shortfall of that film was there just wasn’t enough Godzilla. In 2027 Los Angeles, cybernetic bounty hunter Alex Raine (Olivier Gruner) finds himself on the losing end of a battle with a group of equally robotic terrorists named the Red Army Hammerheads.
