The Goo Goo Dolls’ Robby Takac Rocks The Johnny Gruesome Sountrack

“Dyin’ Tonight,” an original song performed by Robby Takac of Goo Goo Dolls fame for the upcoming horror film Johnny Gruesome (review) has been released by Funhouse Productions and is available for purchase on major music platforms ahead of the film’s October release. Takac co-wrote the song with Armand John Petri and Joe Rozler and recorded it at his GCR Studios in Buffalo, New York. Petri and Rozler also composed the score, and additional songs used in the film were created by Dean Italiano, Giasone Italiano, and Aprilann. The Italianos’ contributions were created for a rock CD, “Gruesome,” to promote the novel on which the film is based; that CD is available separately. In the film, “High school students Eric Carter and Johnny Grissom are best friends. Johnny is a heavy metal rebel nicknamed “Johnny Gruesome” by his classmates. Movie Review: Johnny Gruesome (2018)

Johnny Grissom (Anthony De La Torre) is one put upon metal head; he gets static from the jocks, gets suspended from school, his father attempts to kick his ass, and his psychotic best friend murders him for driving too fast which puts all of Johnny’s friends in the hot seat since they were witnesses and all that. The gang definitely sweat that last one, so they try to cover-up the murder as an accident…which would go a lot smoother if Johnny didn’t return from the dead hungry for revenge! Now friendships are strained and no one is safe from Johnny’s vengeance from beyond the grave! Johnny Gruesome is one slick fright flick my creeps! Johnny is your classic teen rebel, and his quest for revenge is pure horror comic book cool (think Rebel Without a Cause adapted by EC Comics) ! De La Torre makes for an engaging lead, and the make-up used on his undead visage is truly superb…he’s

‘Johnny Gruesome’ Is Back From The Dead To Raise A Little Hell In The First Trailer For the Film

In May I sat down for an interview with Greg Lamberson about his upcoming film Johnny Gruesome. Now, the first trailer has just arrived for this undead revenge film and we have it here to share with you. Anthony De La Torre, who played the role of young Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, stars as Johnny. Byron Brown II, Aprilann, and Michael DeLorenzo co-star. When I asked Lamberson to describe the film this is what he had to say: Johnny Gruesome is the story of a murdered high school student, sort of a heavy metal rebel. The kids who kill him cover it up, like they often do, and he comes back from the grave as a wise-cracking zombie. It’s a very typical EC Comics type of revenge from the grave story. It was always planned as B movie and that’s exactly what it is.” From the Press Release: Red Hell Movies LLC,
