Fox Mostly Likely Renewing ‘The X-Files’ With A Longer Season

Few television series have ever accomplished a group of fans as dedicated as the lovers of ‘The X-Files’. Last year, we got to see Mulder and Scully return for a limited series revival, but fans wanted more. It seems Fox is more than happy to make that happen. That’s right, it appears that we are going to see our favorite ‘X-Files’ detectives return, this time for more than just a couple of episodes. Entertainment Weekly has reported that during the Television Critics Association press tour, Fox president David Madden told reporters that the network is planning “to have an announcement very shortly” about the renewal of ‘The X-Files’. The only issue is scheduling around David Duchovney and Gillian Anderson’s prior commitments. He also stated that future seasons of the series will be longer than last year’s revival, but shorter than the series’ original 20 or more episode seasons. I want to believe that it will all come together. If it

Return To Twin Peaks This May – The Official Premiere Date Announced

It has been nearly thirty years since ‘Twin Peaks’ aired, but the show still has plenty of die-hard fans. Many were over the moon when news came back in 2015 that Showtime would be reviving the spooky series. Last week, we reported a image that surfaced from the website Welcome to Twin Peaks of a calendar marking April 30th as the premiere date, but it turns out that information wasn’t true. Today, the official premiere date for season 3 was announced by Showtime as May 21st at 9pm. The new season will have 18 episodes, according to Deadline, filmed as one long movie then cut to fit the time slots. Back in April, Showtime unveiled the new massive cast list, 217 actors and actresses, including David Duchovny, Ashley Judd, David Lynch, Michael Cera, Jim Belushi, and Nine Inch Nails rocker Trent Reznor (full list below). Some of the cast talk about the series in this video, check it out.

Twin Peaks Premiering This April?

It has been nearly thirty years since ‘Twin Peaks’ aired, but the show still has plenty of die-hard fans. Many were over the moon when news came back in 2015 that Showtime would be reviving the spooky series. It has been a while since we last heard an update. Today, that changes. We have news! It appears the revival may have a premiere date. According to the website Welcome to Twin Peaks, a promotional calendar was sent out by Showtime. The date April 30, 2017 is marked with “Welcome to Twin Peaks”. Showtime has not confirmed the date as of yet, but it would be odd for the promotional calendar to have one specific day marked, unless there is something important about it. Back in April, Showtime unveiled the new massive cast list that includes David Duchovny, Ashley Judd, David Lynch, Michael Cera, Jim Belushi, and Nine Inch Nails rocker Trent Reznor (full list below). We Haven’t Seen The Last Of The X-Files

It’s hard to believe that The X-Files revival is already over. It’s an understatement to say that fans want more. The finale ended in a real cliffhanger, with Mulder and much of the world sick or dying thanks to the Smoking Man. After the finale fans took to social media with an over whelming cry for a new season. Series creator Chris Carter is willing to do another season and Fox is interested in seeing that happen. The main issue is working around everyone’s schedule. “They’re going to ask for more. The ratings were very good. They were happy with the show.” Carter told THR. “I talked to Dana Walden today. She said they’d very much like more, but nothing’s negotiated yet.” Carter continued elaborating on his conversation with Walden. “It was casual, we like the way it worked out. So there’s an appetite for more in the future, it’s just a matter of figuring out how to get it

X-Files Season 7-9 Breakdown Part 3

First, thank you to those fellow fans who have taken the time to read my recap and listen to some of my theories. We are ONE day away from the start of the X-Files Revival on FOX which means it is time to cover season 7 – 9 and well as the last film, “I Want To Believe.” If you need a refresher here are parts 1 and 2: PART 1 Season 1-3 PART 2 Season 4-6 _____________________________ Season 6 ends with “Biogenesis,” which brings new aspects to the series overarching mythology. The episode begins with a biology professor, Merkmallen, in West Africa placing two metallic objects together. When the two objects meet they hover in the air and fly across the room landing in a bible. This man takes the objects to a professor in the United States named Sandoz, who has a similar piece. An alien bounty hunter disguises himself as Sandoz and kills Merkmallen. The real Sandoz

Part 1 of The X-Files Breakdown Seasons 1 – 3

The X-Files centers around two F.B.I. agents, Fox Mulder, the believer, and Dana Scully, the skeptic. The two spent 9 seasons and 2 major motion pictures investigating the strange and unexplained, all while hidden forces worked to impede their efforts. The X-Files was inspired by shows which featured elements of suspense and speculative fiction. The two could not be more different, Mulder, a firm believer in the paranormal searches for the truth hidden in the government all while continuing his search for his abducted sister, Samantha. Scully, spent years studying to be an MD before changing careers and joining the F.B.I. Scully looks at everything from a scientific standpoint and is originally sent to debunk Agents Mulders work. While she agrees with Mulder through much of the series that certain things can not be explained, her and Mulder’s reasonings always differ. The show offered multiple “monster-of-the-week” type episodes which were loosely based off “Alfred Hitchcock Presents,” “The Twilight Zone,” and

Horror Fuel’s X-Files Recap to Start January 9th

In honor of the X-Files revival, Fox Television had a pretty cool promotion running to honor a show whose pop culture impact has lasted nearly 22 years, “201 Days of the X-Files.” The promotion was done through social media and required fans to watch one episode a day, in order, until the series revival premier on January 24th. The Official X-Files Instagram and Twitter posted screen grabs with the season name and episode number for the day. While Fox was busy promoting the revival with posters, and teasers, some pretty neat fan art arose from the original “201 Days” promotion. Here is one of my favorites, provided by @201xfdoodles, where a fan drew a “doddle” of each episode. Even Agents Mulder and Scully (David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson) had some fun engaging with fans and answering questions during certain episodes. __________________________________ Being a long time fan of The X-files, I decided to play along and re-watch the series.
