Elisabeth Moss Staring In New True Crime Series “Candy”

True crime fans have a reason to celebrate tonight, Universal Content Productions (UCP) is making a new series, titled “Candy,” starring brilliant actress Elisabeth Moss (“The Handmaid’s Tale”, The Invisible Man). “Candy” is based on the true story of Candy Montgomery who hacked her friend Betty Gore to death on Friday the 13th, June 1980. The country was shocked by the viciousness of the crime after learning that Gore suffered more than 30 blows of Candy’s ax. According to Variety, several of “The Act” team will reunite for the new limited series. Robin Veith wrote the pilot and serves as executive producer along with Nick Antosca under his Eat the Cat banner. Moss will be executive producing as well along with Lindsey McManus. Co-producers include Jim Atkins and John Bloom. At this time, there is no network or streaming service attached to “Candy”. We’ll keep you posted.

Movie Review: ‘The Invisible Man’

I’ve had high expectations for The Invisible Man since day one. And as I sat in the theater this weekend hearing the audience’s screams around me, it became clear that this brilliant film from writer-director Leigh Whannell is without a doubt making the top of our “Best of 2020” list. Not many movies can make me jump these days, but The Invisible Man had me curled up in my seat holding onto my man’s arm with a death grip. Is it scary? Hell yes! But that’s not all the movie is about. At the heart of the story is Cecilia (Elizabeth Moss), a woman fighting to break free from her psychotic, abusive boyfriend, Adrian (Oliver Jackson-Cohen) who has the means to make her life a living hell. He’s created a suit that turns you invisible and he uses it to alienate her and torture her every way he can. But what he’s not counting on is Cecilia finding the strength

Aldis Hodge Joins Universal And Blumhouse’s ‘The Invisible Man’

“Black Mirror” and “Leverage” actor Aldis Hodge has been cast in a lead role in Universal and Blumhouse’s The Invisible Man, however, he will not be playing the invisible man. Hodge joins previously announced cast members Elizabeth Moss (“The Handmaid’s Tale”), and Storm Reid. Inspired by Universal’s classic monster who made its first appearance in 1933, the film is from writer-director Leigh Whannell, who is behind the Insidious Franchise, Saw, and Upgrade. Reportedly, the film centers on Cecilia (Moss), who receives the news of her abusive ex-boyfriend’s suicide. She begins to rebuild her life for the better. However, her sense of reality is put into question when she begins to suspect her deceased lover is not actually dead. Production begins next month in Sydney, Australia. The Invisible Man will arrive in theaters on March 13, 2020.

High-Rise Starring Tom Hiddleston

Two miles west of London, Dr. Robert Laing has just moved into a new apartment seeking anonymity, only to find that his new neighbors won’t leave him alone. Laing bites the bullet and becomes neighborly, but as he struggles to establish himself, good manners and his grip on sanity disintegrate along with the building. The lights go out and the elevators fail, but the party goes on. Booze is currency and chaos ensues. Directed by Ben Wheatley, High-Rise stars Tom Hiddleston (The Avengers), Jeremy Irons (The Borgias), Sienna Miller (American Sniper), Luke Evans (Dracula Untold) and Elizabeth Moss (Mad Men). The film is based on the 1975 novel by J.G. Ballard, by the same name. No US release date has been announced, but if you’re in the UK, you can catch High-Rise in theaters on March 18th.

From The Director Of ‘The Stangers’ Comes ‘There Are Monsters’

Director Bryan Bertino, who wrote, directed and produced ‘The Strangers’, is directing the upcoming horror movie ‘There Are Monsters’. So far, Elizbeth Moss (Mad Men), Scott Speedman (Underworld), Ella Ballentine (The Captive), Zoe Kazan and Aaron Douglas (Battlestar Galactica) have signed on for the picture, which is set to hit theaters in 2016. The movie follows on a mother and daughter who are trapped. There is a ruthless, blood thirsty creature out in the dark and it’s something like they’ve never seen before.
