Elisabeth Moss Staring In New True Crime Series “Candy”

True crime fans have a reason to celebrate tonight, Universal Content Productions (UCP) is making a new series, titled “Candy,” starring brilliant actress Elisabeth Moss (“The Handmaid’s Tale”, The
Invisible Man).

Candy” is based on the true story of Candy Montgomery who hacked her friend Betty Gore to death on Friday the 13th, June 1980. The country was shocked by the viciousness of the crime after learning that Gore suffered more than 30 blows of Candy’s ax.

According to Variety, several of  “The Act” team will reunite for the new limited series. Robin Veith wrote the pilot and serves as executive producer along with Nick Antosca under his Eat the Cat banner. Moss will be executive producing as well along with Lindsey McManus. Co-producers include Jim Atkins and John Bloom.

At this time, there is no network or streaming service attached to “Candy”. We’ll keep you posted.
