Movie Review: Trespassers (2019)

Here they are cats n’ creeps; Sarah (Angela Trimbur) and Joseph (Zach Avery) the newest couple engaged in that hoary ol’ fright flick trope; the young married folks suffering a rough patch that make the baffling decision to hole up in some remote location to fix their issues (as if being sandwiched together somewhere unable to get away from one another won’t just exacerbate things…) Anyhow, the remote location in question is a desert domicile situated in the Mojave…a house the couple is surprised to find empty upon their arrival as they had agreed to meet the owners upon check-in, but since this is a horror picture, they got their asses all murdered up courtesy a trio of masked maniacs (we’ll get back to them). Complicating that relationship healing is the arrival of Sarah’s pals Estelle (Janel Parrish) and her boyfriend/obnoxious ass Victor (Jonathan Howard), as well as a mysterious motorist with car trouble (Fairuza Balk) and eventually two local

Movies To Watch On Halloween

Halloween is coming up fast and there’s a lot to do to get ready for it! Get candy, carve pumpkins, put up decorations, give stares of immense disdain to your neighbor who’s putting up Christmas lights, and of course, finding a good horror movie to watch! Whether you’re staying in or inviting people over for a Halloween movie night, nothing beats a good horror film. Of course, you ask anyone what’s the best film to watch and generally people will say the classics, especially the Universal monster movies. Though you can’t argue that those movies are good but you want to be careful over watching them as it may take away what’s great about them. That’s why it’s good to mix things up from time to time, below in no particular order are some horror movies you may know or not for you to consider to watch on Halloween. “Arsenic and Old Lace” The 1944 dark comedy starring Cary Grant

Woman (In Horror) Crush Wednesday: Fairuza Balk

We are midway through another week, my Little Monsters, which means it’s time again to focus on a wonderful Woman of Horror. The focus this Wednesday is on a lovely and talented woman, who I personally wish were more of a fixture in the horror genre, Miss Fairuza Balk. Fairuza Alejandra Feldthouse is a California girl by birth, having been born in Point Reyes, CA to Solomon Feldthouse and Cathryn Balk. So taken with his baby daughter’s blue eyes, Solomon exclaimed, “Fairuza!” (which is the Farsi word for turquoise), and thus she had her name. She began her childhood, growing up in a commune in Cloverdale, CA with her mother, before they later moved on to Vancouver, British Columbia. It was at this time that Fairuza made her television acting debut in the ABC television movie, The Best Christmas Pageant Ever. This movie is a personal favorite of mine and my brother, and we watched it over and over on
