‘Sam & Mattie Make A Zombie Movie’ Documentary Centers On Filmmakers With Down Syndrome

What do you get when two best friends with Down Syndrome rally their hometown of Providence to make their dreams of making a horror movie come true? You get the inspiring documentary Sam & Mattie Make a Zombie Movie! The two inspiring guys convinced Sam’s older brother Jesse and his band of filmmaking friends to join them in bringing their film to life. The only rule: the duo’s original artistic vision must remain intact. This meant Sam and Mattie would storyboard, script, produce, cast, and star in their dream project: 2016’s Spring Break Zombie Massacre. This is just one of those magical stories,” says co-director and director of Spring Break Zombie Massacre, Bobby Carnevale. “We started out thinking we’d be filming their movie with iPhones and ketchup, but Sam and Mattie’s big dreams were infectious, so everyone offered to pitch in. The fact that we ended up with such an incredible film proves that when you bring the right people

Blu-ray Review: Grizzly II: Revenge (2021… sort of… 1983… kinda)

Remember the 1976 “nature-run-amok” thriller Grizzly? Sure you (probably don’t) do?!! Well great news, a sequel was “sorta” made in 1983, and it features mother fuckin’ George Clooney, Charlie Sheen, Laura Dern, and genre mainstays Louise Fletcher, Deborah Foreman, and John Rhys-Davies (to varying degrees)! Yeah, at this point if you told me Brando played the bear I’d probably be inclined to believe you… Anyway, Grizzly II: Revenge… what’s it about? Glad you didn’t ask! After poachers start offing grizzlies in a national park, a giant-ass bear decides to go ape-shit right at the same time a huge forest-based rock concert (which I refuse to believe are a fucking thing) is set to take place and bring in some much needed revenue for the park. Of course that concert isn’t about to be cancelled due to Yogi puttin’ a murder on everyone thanks to greedy-ass Eileene Draygon (Fletcher) calling the shots. So it falls on the manly shoulders of park

Movie Review: Death Trip (2021)

Kelly (Kelly Kay) has two things on her mind; nightmares and a pending party at a secluded locale owned by her pal Garrett’s (Garrett Johnson). I’ll bet demons to diamonds those two ingredients will be mixed together right quick! Ridin’ shotgun for the affair are Tatyana (Tatyana Olal) and Melina (Melina Trimarchi), and soon the whole gaggle o’ girls are downing Molson (this flick was created in the Great White North, eh?), smokin’ weed, and bitching about who’ll have to sleep in the room that served as Garett’s grand-pappy’s deathbed. Speaking of “death”, our heroes also encounter Megan (Zoe Slobodzian), the underwear enthusiast next-door neighbor who’s father may have put the murder biz on her mommy dearest back in the day. With all that talk of goin’ tits up does it come as any surprise that the arcane abode they find themselves in appears to be haunted… but is it, is it really? With Death Trip, director James Watts and

Movie Review: Seaside (2018)

Daphne (Ariana DeBose) has it tough as she works a right shit job and has to care for her hard-luck momma (Sharon Washington). But all isn’t dumpster fires and frowns for our heroine, as she is having a secret fling with Roger (Matt Shingledecker), a dude in kind of a similar sitch as he is charged with caring for his old (literally) man… until Pops buys the farm that is. We soon learn Rog has inherited a seaside beach house, and he drags ol’ Daphne out there where she meets Susanna (Steffanie Leigh); one of Roger’s exes. Now let me just say the film opens with a crime scene and we have to piece together who is the victim in that scenario… so put your weird-ass Sherlock Holmes hat on and try to cram those puzzle pieces together into some sort of clear picture! While that set-up may seem to have some spark to it, I have to say Seaside
