Michael Pena Checks Into The Cecil Hotel For ‘The Bringing’

Michael Pena (The Vatican Tapes) is set to star in Sony’s ‘The Bringing’ from director Jeremy Lovering. The most recent script was penned by Kevin Kolsch and Denis Widmyer. The film is set in the Cecil Hotel in downtown Los Angeles, the very same hotel that inspired last season’s ‘American Horror Story: Hotel’. The hotel has a dark and deadly past and once served as home to a serial killer. The Cecil Hotel also has had a long history of mysterious deaths, suicides, and disappearances. Pena will be playing the role of an investigator looking for answers after a mysterious death occurs on the hotel’s grounds, according to Bloody Disgusting. It’s allegedly based on Elisa Lam, who was found dead in the water tanks on the roof of the Cecil Hotel in Los Angeles. That’s the place that killers like Richard Ramirez called home at one time or another, and where suicides have occurred. Footage of Lam’s bizarre, inexplicable behavior

Death House Releases New Promotional Art

Death House, one of the most highly anticipated horror films of 2016, has just released new artwork by artist Sean Wilson. Director Harrison Smith had this to say about the new poster: We hope the artwork reflects the complexity of the film, hints of steam punk and also a solid sign of the horror Death House contains behind its walls. Smith pointed out an interesting detail about the artwork to me. If you look closely at the left eye (our right) you will see an aerial photo of the Death House facility. Smith, known for his films Camp Dread, The Fields, 6 Degrees of Hell, and Zombie Killers: Elephant’s Graveyard, not only directed but also penned the script, based on the original screenplay by Gunnar Hansen who played Leatherface in the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Hansen gave Smith his blessing on the new script before he passed away in 2015. Death House features a cast of genre legends like we’ve

Exclusive Interview With Writer, Director, Producer Juan Gonzalez

Juan Gonzalez’s new horror film, The Ghost Hunt, will begin filming this fall. The film, based on true events, follows five friends who go on a ghost hunting tour, then are followed home by one of the spirits they encounter. Today I had the opportunity to speak with Gonzalez about his upcoming project, The Ghost Hunt, and his first horror film The Awakened and about his life. I learned a lot about his writing process, his hopes for his film and his dedication as a father. I have to admit, it was a very pleasant conversation. Gonzalez was friendly, funny and eager to talk about his projects (That’s always a good sign). His enthusiasm about The Ghost Hunt and filmmaking were refreshing. Juan Gonzalez’s debut in the horror genre was with 2013’s The Awakened, which he produced and received story credit for. The film follows five friends who decide to wait out a hurricane in Miami and throw a party.
