Terror Films’ first horror feature, The Chosen, will be co-distributed with Supergravity Pictures. The Chosen has already been released on several platforms as of December 1st, including iTunes, where it spent eight weeks in the top 100 horror films. It is now available on Netflix. The film stars Kian Lawley, Elizabeth Keener, Angelica Chitwood, Mykayla Sohn, Barbara Goodson, Chris Gann, Casey James Knight, Emily Killian, Dayna Devon, Harv Popick, Penelope Richards and Stefanie Estes. The Chosen centers on a young girl who has become the focus of the demon Lilith. To save her, her brother Cameron must sacrifice six of their family members before six days are up. But can he? At a time when many horror films are going overboard with too complex plots and over the top special effects, The Chosen was breath of fresh air. Both the plot and the special effects were simple and straight forward, in a very good way. Kian Lawley’s role as the

A rookie cop’s first shift happens to be on the last night of operation of the old police department. Officer Jessica Loren (Juliana Harkavy) is all alone, or is she? Her first shift is about to turn into a nightmare. When a 911 call comes in from a girl being held captive, the officer is unaware that the voice on the other line is much more than that of a woman in need. The Officer’s shift is filled with horrifying sites and visitations from those who passed. The question is, will she make it out alive? Director Anthony DiBlasi also wrote the film along with Scott Poiley and did a fantastic job. It’s creepy and leaves you guessing and questioning what actually happened. Juliana Harkavy really got into her role as Officer Loren, who is trying to be brave but comes across as somewhat delicate and terrified. The film is fast-paced, and the back story ties everything together nicely. As

Brian O’Malley makes his full length feature debut with Dark Sky Films’ ‘Let Us Prey’. The script for this supernatural thriller was penned by David Caims. ‘Let Us Prey’ stars ‘Game of Thrones’ actor Liam Cunningham, Pollyanna McIntosh (Woman), Bryan Larkin, Hanna Stanbridge, Douglas Russell, Niall Greig Fulton, Ralph Beswick and Brian Vernel. A small town police station is taken over by a desire for blood and murder when both criminals and officers come under the spell of a mysterious stranger. The officers and criminals reveal their true nature and their horrible crimes, but the man in cell 6 is much more than the wanderer he appears to be. He is there to not only reveal the darkness inside each of them, but also to claim their souls. Will anyone make it out alive? You’ll have to watch ‘Let Us Prey’ to find out. I stumbled across ‘Let Us Prey’ while trying to find something to watch on Netflix, and

The Insidious franchise has held it’s own among other paranormal franchises, including the ‘Paranormal Activity’ line. The first ‘Insidious’ was released back in 2010 and has developed a style all it’s own. The latest film, ‘Insidious: Chapter 3′, is now in theaters and out on VOD. Last night I sat down to see for myself if the film stood up to the previous films’ legacy. I should mention now that ‘Chapter 3’ is not a sequel, it’s a prequel to the first film and was written and directed by Leigh Whannell, who also plays the role of Specs in ‘Chapter 3’. As always, our review will NOT spoil the movie’s ending. ‘Chapter 3’ begins when Quinn (Stefanie Scott), a young woman, seeks out Elise, a medium, to help her get in touch with her recently passed mother. Of course, everyone who has seen one of the ‘Insidious’ films will recognize Elise as Lin Shaye. Elise tries to channel Quinn’s mother,
