I’ve heard the saying “inner demons” many times when it comes to someone with problems of addiction, both when it comes to alcohol and with drugs. The movie ‘Inner Demons’ explores the possibility that there could be more behind addiction, like demons. I sat down with my lap top to write and chose ‘Inner Demons’ to watch in between typing lines. I will admit when I first hit play, that I thought I was about to watch another mediocre movie, I was wrong. After a few minutes the movie had caught my attention and I actually set aside my lap top, which is rare when I’ve got deadlines to meet. ‘Inner Demons’ began with a documentary crew filming the story of Carson, a young woman strung out on several drugs. It started off with hints of a darker story underneath the main plot. When she begins rehabilitation and the drugs begin to leave her system her erratic behavior begins to

Maika Monroe (The Guest), Keir Gilchrist (Dead Silence), Olivia Luccardi (Like Sunday, Like Rain), Lili Sepe (Spork) and ‘Zombeavers’ actor Jake Weary star in the 2014 supernatural thriller ‘It Follows’. In ‘It Follows’ Jay (Maika Monroe) makes the mistake of sleeping with the wrong guy and as a result she has contracted a supernatural STD, of sorts. Now Jay along with her friends must find away to break the cycle and save her life from the entity that stalks her day and night. So, is ‘It Follows’ as great as everyone says it is? The answer is yes. Writer-director David Robert Mitchell scored a home run with this brilliant horror film. The film delivers a new concept, unlike recycled ideas behind the majority of horror movies we see these days. One thing I really liked about the film is that Mitchell doesn’t rely on the heavy use of “jump scares”, a cheap, over used trick of filmmakers where a sudden

WARNING! May Contain spoilers! The directing duo of Scott Beck and Bryan Woods bring us ‘Nightlight’, a tale of possession, suicide and five dumb kids exploring the woods, while playing idiotic games, like train dodging. This found footage film stars ‘The Social Network’ actress Shelby Young, as the main character Robin, along side Chloe Bridges (The Carrie Diaries), Carter Jenkins (Valentine’s Day), Mitch Hewer (Skins), Kyle Fain (End of Innocents) and Taylor Murphy from the ‘Scream’ series. Robin, the focus of the movie, joins a group of teenagers in the woods for a night of games and to get closer to one of the guys. The five teens head deep into a haunted forest to test their will by participating in a series of “flashlight games”. ‘[REC] 4: Apocalypse’, the follow up to 2012’s ‘[REC] 3: Genisis’, follows TV reporter Angela Vidal (Velasco) as she is rescued from a quarantined, zombie infested building. Angela is then transported, along with the men who rescued her, to a converted oil tanker out at sea. The boat has been converted into a floating medical research lab. The doctors on board believe that Angela may be carrying the key to curing the virus, a parasite. When someone lets loose an infected test subject, the virus spreads through the passengers, Angela and a few uninfected survivors must band together and fight to survive. Something tells me we will see another movie in the franchise, the ending was left open and set up perfectly for another movie, which I would be happy to watch. Director Jaume Balaguero co-wrote ‘[REC] 4’ along side Manu Diez, who also wrote ‘[REC] 2’, did an amazing job of creating a zombie/infection movie that really makes for
