John Wick Writer Working On New “Dungeons & Dragons” TV Series

Have you’ve ever gathered around a table with your friends for a round of D&D, to cast the dice and enter a world of mages, rouges, and monsters? If the answer is yes, you will be thrilled to hear that Derek Kolstad, the writer of the John Wick franchise is bringing to life a series inspired by the game, “Dungeons & Dragons.” There is no word yet which network it will premiere on. The fantasy role-playing game, which is easily one of the largest role-playing games ever created, was first released in 1974 by game developers Ernest Gary Gygax and David Arneson. It rose to popularity in the 1980s and has gained traction once again during the pandemic due to its easy remote gameplay over services like Zoom. To play the table-top game you will need a group of friends, a “Dungeon Master” (lead storyteller), and a few supplies, including a handbook. We recommend you get a starter kit (here).

Movie Review: The Last Thing Mary Saw Is A Deep And Dark Thriller

Writer-director Edoardo Vitaletti makes his feature debut with the religious thriller The Last Thing Mary Saw, starring Stefanie Scott (Insidious: Chapter 3), Isabelle Fuhrman (Orphan), Rory Culkin (Scream 4), Shane Coffey (“Pretty Little Liars”), Carolyn McCormick (“Law & Order”). and Judith Roberts (Dead Silence). Set in Southold, New York, in 1843, Mary is interrogated about the death of her family and the events that led up to it. As she recounts her tale we watch it play out. The film begins when it is discovered that Mary is in possession of a forbidden book and her family’s discovery that she and their maid are in a forbidden love affair. The family, religious zealots, put the girls through torture in an attempt to break their bonds, instead, it leads to death for many. Insidious 3 actress Stefanie Scott stars as Mary who, no matter how she tries, can not hide her love for Eleanor, played by Isabelle Fuhrman. The two have

Movie Review: The Funeral Home

Director Mauro Iván Ojeda’s supernatural, haunting Argentinian film The Funeral Home is set to premiere later this month. I got the chance to watch it. Here are my thoughts. The film is set at the home of Bernardo (Luis Machín), his new wife Estela (Celeste Gerez), and her daughter Irina (Camila Vaccarini), which doubles as a funeral home. Neither Estela nor Irina like this place, you see it’s haunted, but they have nowhere else to go. That’s not the only problem the family has, young Irina is still mourning the death of her father. She’s also a moody teenager that seems to think everything her mom does is wrong. It only took me a couple of minutes to discover the film’s first flaw. Even reading at a fast pace I found the subtitles evaporating before I could get to the end of a sentence before the next line popped up. It’s a little hard to watch a movie and enjoy

Blu-ray Review: Family Portraits: A Trilogy of America (2003)

Family Portraits: A Trilogy Of America is an arcane anthology, so let’s see what each story has to offer our eerie eyeballs before we get a lil’ of that sweet, sweet overview action, shall we boils n’ ghouls? The first story up is Cutting Moments: As is the way of suburbia in Anytown U. S. of fuckin’ A., a wife and mother (Nicca Ray in a solid performance that runs the gamut from doubt to absolutely batshit purpose) plays homemaker while her sicko of a hubby (Gary Betsworth) is playin’ the Chester the Molester bag with their young son. Our heroine gets the idea that she should be the one getting her husband’s attention so she starts to try and bring him around with a lil’ make-up, a sexy dress, some self-mutilation… you know, the usual stuff. Well, this is a pitch-dark way to kick tings off and let me tell ya cats n’ creeps this one does indeed shock
