A First Look At Indie Horror “In Darkness I Wait”

The final film of filmmaker Jeff Payne‘s “The Pale Faced Lady” trilogy will soon make its debut. Ahead of its premiere, we have a sneak peek to share with you. Titled In Darkness I Wait, the film centers on a young man and his girlfriend Mara who enter an old house with the intent to burn it down in hopes of erasing the family’s bad history. What the couple doesn’t know is that an evil entity waits for them. I’m going full terror. At this point, you know the story, how she came to be, and what she’s capable of. Now, we follow characters who go into the house to try and rid the nightmare once and for all. I’m wanting this to be the payoff for the series. Tense atmospheres, dread, and horror…my goal is to scare my mom on this one haha!” Jeff Payne says. Check out the first look at the film.

Movie Review: Corona Zombies (2020)

Barbie (Cody Renee Cameron) arrives home to discover the world is in the grip of a corona virus outbreak via the nightly news. Unlike the corona based fun n’ games we are currently balls deep in as of the time of this writing, this particular stain turns it’s victims into diseased zombies that terrorize the land with their battlecry: “Corona!” Oh and this sinister sickness originated from Scambell’s soup factory and their bat soup… subtle this mother fucker is definitely not. Meanwhile a paramilitary unit engages the corona zombies in the wild courtesy of footage lifted from Bruno Mattei’s 1980 Italian gut-muncher Hell of the Living Dead (footage from Zombies Vs. Strippers and the actual news is utilized as well). The rest of the film is packed to the revoltin’ rafters with juvenile humor, amazingly un-politically correct nonsense, up-to-the-minute plot points (not the zombies you dumb-ass ass-dumbs… rather it’s the quarantine, precautions we must take, and news footage displayed that

Movie Review: Butt Boy (2019)

Chip Gutchell (played by the film’s writer/director Tyler Cornack), who decidedly isn’t livin’ his best life… hell, he’s barely “livin'” at all; his job sucks, his marriage is the pits, and not even a new role as “daddy” has brought him any joy. Oh, and he just booked his first prostate exam. Should go easy seeing as how life is shovin’ it in dry where the sun don’t shine on the daily… And there he finds his life’s true pleasure; having foreign objects jammed up his arse six ways to Sunday… and acts on his new desire like a true champion! Well, fate has more in store for our anal-lovin’ hero as the world’s most stereotypical police detective (slick hair and drinking habit intact) named Russel Fox (Tyler Rice) who is desperate to solve a missing child case… but what does our hero and his chocolate starfish have to do with any of that? Better buckle up for that revelation

Movie Review: The Black Gate (2017)

Sarah (Jeanne Dessart) and David (Nicolas Couchet) are a couple of orphans what lived a hard knock life indeed! Their Uncle Simon (Michel Coste) put the murder biz on their parents, and they spent most of their lives separated at different orphanages. Oh, there’s another thing about ol’ sinister simon; he loves himself the black magic, and he sent Sarah one of those ghoulish grimoires all the rage with witches ages 13 – 45. Long story short, our heroes venture to their Uncle’s arcane abode, run afoul of a cadre of criminals, and all of these folks must contend with the literal hell that’s barfin’ forward out of the demonic doorway he just so happened to leave open! Picture it; Sicily: 1922… Jess Franco sits himself down, watches Phantasm and Evil Dead, smokes the fattest of fat ones, exhales and says: “I could make those films with one arm tied around Lina Romay’s back!” Suddenly a producer from Filmirage… no,

Movie Review: Not For Resale (2020)

Look, I’ll lay it on the line; physical media may soon go the way of the dinosaur, and that is kind of bullshit if you ask your’s cruelly. Anyway, I’m not alone in this… just take a gander at the number of boutique labels providing horror hounds with the titles they crave on Blu-ray these days. Well, ‘lo and behold video game fans have the same fuckin’ desire which brings us to Not for Resale… Not for Resale, the new documentary from Kevin J. James, takes us on a tour of independent video game stores still keeping the lights on by wheeling n’ dealing in the relics of the golden age of physical cartridges and disks that transported us to the realms of our most fantastic dreams… and speaking of dreams, these shops may soon become obsolete thanks to the aging out of the customer base; but damn it if the folks behind these cultural meccas of geekdom won’t give

Movie Review: Shed (2019)

A group of friends gather in a cabin in the woods on Halloween. While you may think these gaggle of goofs would be fodder for some masked lunatic, they are instead stalked n’ slayed by a skin stealing monster that can steal their identities. David Axe (who penned The Theta Girl, which I reviewed right here) brings us a tale that is both grindhouse and social commentary with Shed. While on the surface this is a creature feature that contains a healthy dollop of what many of us love the most…namely buckets of blood and naked flesh, all wrapped up in with “cabin in the woods/slasher” tropes…this picture has a bit more on it’s mind. The aforementioned monster is female, but isn’t afraid to take on the persona of men and could be a veiled allegory to the experiences of trans people and male or female gender roles being fluid, and that’s a statement I can get behind. As a
