Instagram Believes Horror Is Bad

Instagram, an affiliate site connected to Facebook is famous for attention seeking wannabe models, armature foodies, showcasing artists, celebrities sharing behind the scenes of their personal lives, and constantly being down. You can search for the type of images you want to see by their hashtags (#) but one hashtag is flagged… Horror. That’s right, #Horror is flagged on Instagram. If you search for horror, a page will pop up and asking if “They” (Instagram) can help as horror, they claim, often encourages harmful behavior, don’t believe me? Well, calling on their bluff I looked up known dangerous behavior. #drinkinggames is safe even though these can attribute to alcohol poisoning, same with #beerpong, #drinking, and #drunk. This may not sound that bad, but some of the posts I’ve looked at star those who look to be a little too young to be drinking. You Will Be Able To Play Steam Games On Your Phone Soon!

Long train commute? Meeting that goes on forever? Just bored?! Well, Valve has figured out a solution to make those moments and other bearable. The geniuses behind the PC gaming giant have developed a free app for Android and iOS devices. The apps will allow those with Steam accounts to play any game from their game library on their devices provided that your PC is connected to a 5Ghz network or have it plugged in with an ethernet cable. The app will allow users to use Steam and MFI controllers (that may make it hard to play stealthily in a meeting.) Later on, Valve plans to allow users to stream movies and tv shows onto your devices through your Steam library. The app will be coming out the week of May 21st and will only work if you have an internet connection (like pretty much anything these days). Happy Gaming!

Slenderman – The Modern Terror

A simple contest on June 10, 2009 by the internet forum Something Awful created a modern and unique monster. The contest challenged people to take everyday photographs and make them appear paranormal. Complete with comments from faux eye –witnesses, forum poster Victor Surge used images of groups of children and inserted a man. This man was tall, thin, white-faced and wearing a dark suit with a red tie. As this man stood ominously over the children, a phenomenon was born. Slenderman was not developed from ancient myths, or fairy tales. He is not found in a book and merely brought to life via media or film. This man is a wonderful piece of modern folk-lore. Generations from now, Slenderman will be included in the cannon of horror along with gremlins, trolls, the boogieman and everything else that goes bump in the night. One of the scariest things about Slenderman — and it was absolutely intended by his creator — is
