Writer-director Edoardo Vitaletti‘s feature debut, the occult horror-thriller The Last Thing Mary Saw, is heading to Shudder following its debut at FrightFest this week. To mark the occasion, Shudder has unveiled a new clip. The Last Thing Mary Saw begins in Southold, New York, 1843: Young Mary (Stefanie Scott, Insidious: Chapter 3), blood trickling from behind the blindfold tied around her eyes, is interrogated about the events surrounding her grandmother’s death. ‘Escape Room 2’ Release Moved Up To This Summer

Adam Robitel‘s Escape Room 2 has changed its release date several times. A new date has now been announced. Columbia Pictures has moved up the release from January 2022 all the way up to July 16, 2021. That’s right, it’s coming early. Escape Room‘s Logan Miller and Talyor Russell will both be returning and will star alongside Isabelle Fuhrman (Orphan), Holland Roden (“Channel Zero: Butcher’s Block”), Indya Moore (“Pose”), Thomas Cocquerel (“The 100”), and Carlito Olivero (“East Los High”). The 2019 original film follows six strangers who participate in an escape room game, but soon learn they are locked in a game of life or death. Together they aim to solve clues and riddles in order to move from one room to the next, discovering that they must reveal their biggest secrets and work together to survive. After escaping the game, the two survivors talk about getting even which we assume will be part of the plot of the sequel.

Back in November, we reported that Isabelle Fuhrman is returning for the prequel to 2009’s Orphan as Esther. Today, we’ve got the first behind the scenes look at Orphan: First Kill via Fuhrman’s social media. Filming will soon wrap on Orphan: First Kill and according to reports, 23-year-old Fuhrman looks as if she hasn’t aged a day since Jaume Collet-Serra’s hit film debuted thanks to clever angles, world-class makeup, and effects. In 2009 Fuhrman brought to life the twisted and terrifying Esther to life. The character was actually a 33-year-old woman named Leena Klammer, posing as a child up for adoption. Rossif Sutherland Boards Orphan Prequel “First Kill”

Yesterday we reported that Isabelle Fuhrman will be returning to reprise her role of Esther in the upcoming prequel to the disturbing 2009 film Orphan. We can now report that the cast has gained another star, Possessor (out today on VOD and Digital) actor Rossif Sutherland, half-brother of Kiefer Sutherland, Deadline announced. The cast also includes The Omen‘s (2006) actress Julia Stiles. In the movie, titled Orphan: First Kill, “Leena Klammer orchestrates a brilliant escape from an Estonian psychiatric facility and travels to America by impersonating the missing daughter of a wealthy family. But Leena’s new life as “Esther” comes with an unexpected wrinkle and pits her against a mother who will protect her family at any cost.” William Brent Bell (The Boy) is directing from the script written by David Coggeshall (The Haunting in Connecticut 2) for Dark Castle Entertainment and Entertainment One.

Isabelle Fuhrman Returning For ‘Orphan’ Prequel

Isabelle Fuhrman made a name for herself when she starred in 2009’s hit horror film Orphan. Now she’s confirmed to be returning for the upcoming prequel of the twisted movie. Fuhrman starred in the film as Esther, an odd young girl adopted by parents (Peter Skarsgard and Vera Farmiga) who are struggling to overcome the loss of their baby. But things quickly take a turn for the worse. The prequels plot details are being kept under wraps for now, but we do know that Fuhrman will both star and serve as an associate producer for the picture that is being directed by William Bell (The Boy, The Devil Inside) and is written by David Coggeshall. Dark Castle Entertainment and Entertainment one will produce, Variety reports. Hal Sadoff, Ethan Erwin, James Tomlinson, and Dark Castle’s Alex Mace will also produce with Jen Gorton executive producing.

‘Escape Room 2’ Opens In Theaters This December

Originally set to be released in April, Adam Robitel‘s Escape Room 2 was delayed, but now has a new date, December release date. Logan Miller and Taylor Russell are reprising their roles and star alongside Isabelle Fuhrman (Orphan), Holland Roden (“Channel Zero: Butcher’s Block”), Indya Moore (“Pose”), Thomas Cocquerel (“The 100”), and Carlito Olivero (“East Los High”). Bragi F. Schut wrote the sequel’s script. In the franchise, strangers find themselves in a maze of deadly mystery rooms and must work together and use their wits to survive. Escape Room 2 opens in theaters on December 30th.

‘Orphan’ Prequel ‘Esther’ Set To Begin Filming

When you hear of a family adopting an orphaned child, you think of a happy ending. That’s not the case in the 2009 horror Orphan. After ten years, we are getting its prequel, titled Esther. Deadline is reporting that The Boy‘s William Brent Bell is directing the film about the adopted girl, played by Isabelle Fuhrman, that we met in Orphan. The girl is, in reality, a 33-year-old woman named Leena Klammer who has a rare hormonal disorder called Hypopituitarism that has stunted her growth. She’s spent much of her life pretending to be a kid and bouncing from home to home.
