4K Ultra HD Review: Perdita Durango (1997)

Perdita Durango (Rosie Perez), that jaguar lovin’, do-whatever-the-fuck she pleases badass has truly met her match in blood-crazed, self-proclaimed sorcerer (of a rather unpleasant version of Santeria he has bastardized) and crime spree enthusiast Romeo (Javier Bardem), and the world is all the worse for it! What does Satan’s favorite power couple get up to you may ask? Well, Romeo gets a gig transporting fetuses for illegal use by a cosmetics company, but before engaging in that bit o’ biz; he and his lady-fare decide to kidnap a ridiculous duo of college kids, lovers Duane (Harley Cross) and Estelle… who’s lives mirror a sitcom, in order to eat one of them (they haven’t decided on which one) and use them as sacrifices in one of Romeo’s Santeria shows. Hot on their trail is ridiculous, yet doggedly determined DEA agent Dumas (James Gandolfini) who can take cartoon levels of abuse and keep on truckin’. All of this collides and gets fucked

Jason Liles Talks Becoming George For ‘Rampage’ And More In An Interview

Jason Liles, the breakout star of Brad Peyton’s film adaptation of Rampage, was kind enough to answer a few of my questions. Liles and I talked about a few his previous roles in films like Netflix’s Death Note and The Conjuring 2. But it quickly became crystal clear that his role as George, the giant gorilla in Rampage, holds a special place in his heart. Liles stars in Rampage alongside Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. Oscar nominee Naomie Harris (Moonlight), Jeffrey Dean Morgan ( The Walking Dead), Malin Akerman (Billions), Jake Lacy (Girls), Joe Manganiello (True Blood), P.J. Byrne (Final Destination 5), Marley Shelton (Solace), Breanne Hill (San Andreas), Jack Quaid (The Hunger Games: Catching Fire), and Matt Gerald (Daredevil) co-star Horror Fuel: “You’ve played a lot of larger than life roles if you don’t mind me asking, just how tall are you? ” Jason Liles: “I’m six foot nine.” Horror Fuel: “Wow, that is tall. Is This The End Of Universal’s Dark Universe?

Just 5 months after Universal released the first teaser image of some of the stars of their upcoming new Dark Universe film franchise the duo of Alex Kurtzman and Chris Morgan, hired to be the architects of the universe, have exited the project according to THR. The teaser included A-list actors like Johnny Depp, Javier Bardem, and Russel Crowe and was meant to hook fans on the revival of characters like the Invisible Man, Wolf Man, Frankenstein, and Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Unfortunately, none of the planned remakes looks to still be alive and kicking. Universal even halted the filming of Bride of Frankenstein which had already begun production in London. Reportedly, the halt was due to execs feeling that the script written by director Bill Condon wasn’t ready. After viewers failed to get wrapped up in The Mummy, the first film of the franchise, it isn’t particularly surprising that they have put the venture on hold. Universal’s president

The New Trailer For ‘Mother!’ Proves “Seeing Is Believing”

The first trailer for Darren Aronofsky’s horror-thriller Mother! has been unveiled and not only is it filled with suspense, it left me wanting more. Aronofsky knows how to build an intense, twisted story. Just look at his films Black Swan and Requiem for a Dream. Not only does the film have a great writer-director, the cast is quite impressive and includes names like Jennifer Lawrence, Javier Bardem, Ed Harris, Michelle Pfeiffer, Domhnall Gleeson, Stephen McHattie, and Kristen Wiig. The film centers on a couple whose relationship is tested when uninvited guests arrive at their home, disrupting their tranquil existence and proves that “seeing is believing”. Mother! opens in theaters on September 15, 2017, from Paramount Pictures.
