Movie Review: Teacher Shortage (2020)

Ten years ago, a bullied student kills herself in the school bathroom with a lil’ jagged glass to the throat routine… Fast forward a decade, and at said institution, that alliterative muv-fuck Sue Steel (Debra Lamb) is throwing her annual shindig for her peers in Ye Olde English Department at her pad. Things are a bit strained at the soiree for sure… but shit is going to be a tad more tense right quick, as a maniac has crashed the party, and that right bastard is lugging around a yearbook from ten years previous! The main thing Teacher Shortage has going for it is writer/director Troy Escamilla’s love of ’80s slasher flicks (which also provides us with a negative as well, but we’ll get to that shit in due time boils n’ ghouls)… my dude digs on the genre the most, and it shows… it also gives the film a great deal of heart, which goes a loooong way with

New Exclusive Still From T.H.E.M. (The Horrific Evil Monsters)

388 Studios has unveiled a new exclusive still for T.H.E.M. (The Horrific Evil Monsters), an apocalyptic cult horror film featuring the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse versus a team too “monstrous” for this world. The film stars former WCW Star Bishop Stevens, award-winning actor and director Gregory Blair (Garden Party Massacre), Jennie Russo (She Kills, FANG), Jason John Beebe (Ombis: Alien Invasion, Sharknado 2), and Kaylee Williams. Staying within the same universe as FANG, T.H.E.M. brings back some familiar cast used throughout director Adam Steigert’s other films. Steigert took a firm bite out of the monster genre with the delivery of FANG. With the Horrific Evil Monsters, he is ready to chew it up and spit it out. Stay tuned to see what monstrosities T.H.E.M. is hiding! FANG starts its festival run late 2018 running through 2019. The first photo is a behind the scenes shot featuring alien lifeform “Obji” (Will Nemi) and actor Michael O’Hear (as William Sanders). The

Movie Review: Mrs. Claus (2018)

What can be better than a slasher flick that starts with a sorority pledge forced to lap up toilet water and humiliate herself with a pitch black marital aide before she finally snaps and chokes the head of the sorority with said dildo before slicing her up like a prize-winning ham then hanging herself? Honestly, not a hell of a lot I reckon… So after all of that craziness, Mrs. Claus starts in earnest when the sister of the now defunct sorority head, Amber by name, joins the same sorority as some sort of half-assed grief therapy. Well, before you can say ‘blood covered yule log’…wait, why would you ever even say that? Anyway…sorority bros and hoes start gettin’ offed right quick by a sinister slasher dressed as a nightmare version of Mrs. Clause and the body count climbs ever upward. Can ol’ Amber and her pals survive the slashin’s going on six ways to Sunday and figure out who

Movie Review: Ahockalypse (2018)

Ahockalypse begins with The Prairie Kings hockey team scoring a major victory on the ice, but the highfalutin celebrating is short lived as the city becomes ground zero for one of those zombie apocalypses that all the kids are into these days. Now the team has to tear ass all over the damn place in a desperate race to survive the night as gut munchers clash with team mascots, kung-fu vixens, and pepperoni obsessed goof-balls! As you can surmise from the sinister synopsis above; Ahockalypse is light on story, but that should come as no real surprise, as this is a fright flick filled with as many laughs (attempted anyway…more to come there) as lacerations, and one where the absurd rules the day…but that too is a tad lacking. First off, the cast are extremely game for the free wheeling nonsense at hand, and all are fun to watch, but unfortunately the material they are given more often than not
