‘Faces Of Death’ Is Being Given New Life With A Reboot

Odds are you’ve heard about the 1978 movie Faces of Death. Like many movies of our youth, Faces of Death is now getting a reboot that will kick off a new franchise. Billed as a documentary, it shocked and horrified viewers, featuring supposed real deaths, autopsies, and scenes of gore, and bizarre events, up close in clips from around the world. In reality, the majority of the deaths were staged, but the movie, written and directed by John Allen Schwarts, still managed to build a cult following even after it was banned in countries around the world, leaving people desperate to get their hands on a copy of the VHS. Isa Mazzei and Daniel Goldhaber, the duo behind 2018’s thriller Cam will be reuniting for the reboot with Mazzei writing and Goldhaber directing. Legendary Comics Unveils Cover For Issues 1 Of New ‘The Heart Hunter’

To celebrate love and Valentine’s Day, Legendary Comics has unveiled the cover for the new graphic novel The Heart Hunter from writer Mickey George and artist V. Gagnon. The Heart Hunter is set on the cursed island of Envecor, where everyone is doomed to wear their heart outside their body and are immortal—unable to die, to change, to have children — until they find their soul mate. Paired soul mates are then turned mortal, freed from the curse, and able to leave. But all fairy tales have a dark side: those who don’t want to lose their immortality pay “Heart Hunters” to find their soul mates and kill them so they may remain immortal. Psyche, a Heart Hunter, is hired by the king to kill his soulmate. As she sets out on her quest, she begins her own journey of mending her broken heart and learning to trust again. Peter Dinklage In Talks To Star In ‘The Toxic Avenger Reboot’

Troma is going mainstream with a reboot of the horror-comedy The Toxic Avenger which is being produced by Legendary Pictures, the company that brought you Jurassic Park, Crimson Peak, and many other blockbusters. According to Deadline, “Game of Thrones” actor Peter Dinklage is currently in talks to star in the film that will be directed by Macon Blair writer and director of Netflix’s I Don’t Feel At Home In This World Anymore. There is no word yet what role Dinklage will play. The Toxic Avenger premiered in 1984 as a successful midnight movie in New York, becoming a cult classic and going on to spawn three sequels, a cartoon series, a musical, and a Marvel comic. In the movie, Toxic Avenger was created when a meek, bullied mop boy named Melvin falls into toxic waste. After mutating he sets out to stop evildoers. GODZILLA VS. CYNEMA

If you go through these posts you’ll find they aren’t reviews but rather how we view our entertainment and often take it for granted while lowering our acceptance standards. SPOILERS AHEAD! GOT IT? Warners and Legendary really hyped the marketing on Godzilla King of the Monsters and I gotta give props to the campaign. From the very first trailer, the strategy was to show this was a major departure from the Gareth Edwards 2014 film. Many will concur that a major shortfall of that film was there just wasn’t enough Godzilla. There wasn’t enough Bryan Cranston and a little too much Kick Ass but not the monster kick ass action we hoped for. What Edwards did achieve was dispelling

Today, we have the trailer and preview of Chapter One for Acursian, a thrilling, imaginative comic series starring John Barrowman (“Doctor Who,” “Torchwood,” “Arrow”), from Legendary, the same company behind Godzilla: Rise of the Monsters coming in May of 2019.
