Odds are you’ve heard about the 1978 movie Faces of Death.  Like many movies of our youth, Faces of Death is now getting a reboot that will kick off a new franchise.

Billed as a documentary, it shocked and horrified viewers, featuring supposed real deaths, autopsies, and scenes of gore, and bizarre events, up close in clips from around the world. In reality, the majority of the deaths were staged, but the movie, written and directed by John Allen Schwarts, still managed to build a cult following even after it was banned in countries around the world, leaving people desperate to get their hands on a copy of the VHS.

Isa Mazzei and Daniel Goldhaber, the duo behind 2018’s thriller Cam will be reuniting for the reboot with Mazzei writing and Goldhaber directing.

Legendary Entertainment has acquired the rights and will be behind the new movie, THR reports. Odds are you’ve heard of them too. Legendary is behind movies such as John Wick, The Dark Knight, and Godzilla vs. Kong.
